9 days late, but.......

I'd definitely recommend films by Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Rushmore, Fantastic Mr Fox) & Quentin Tarantino (Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Deathproof) - they're my favourite directors at least, so I may be bias, haha.

Also:

-Taxi Driver -Grave Encounters (for spooky dooky things) -Breathless// Films by Jean-Luc Godard or Claude Chabrol (french films) -Chungking Express // Films by Wong Kar Wai (hong kong films) -If you want to go proper classic, have a look at some of Alfred Hitchcock's stuff (The Birds/Psycho) -American Psycho -Heathers -The Bond Series (as in James Bond - the first two are kinda meh, but the rest are pretty good)

If you'd like anymore, just hit me up & I'll supply you with some more (at least, these are some of the top of my head).

The Sting, to me, is one of those movies that just gets everything so perfectly that it's timeless. The best heist film ever made, in my opinion. If you don't know what happens in the end, then your jaw will hit the floor. It's a con movie that pulls off the greatest con of all -- It cons the audience watching it.

I also second recommendation on Tarantino -- only if you can stomach violence, however. I love his films because every time he comes out with something, I know I won't be disappointed by the characters and story. But if you are strongly opposed to violence or strong language, you probably won't enjoy his films.

Action films I recommend: A Better Tomorrow, The Killer and Hardboiled by John Woo, starring Chow Yun Fat back when he was younger. Haha.

Also, a really awesome action/martial arts film: The Raid: Redemption. Think of Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon, only Bruce Lee is a cop and the tower of big bad bosses he has to fight are multiplied times a thousand. Now multiply the martial arts action by another thousand. Your adrenaline pumps the entire movie; it's a rush.

What kind of movies are you into / have seen?

I'd personally recommend The Fall over the moon, its cinematography is amazing.

Pacific Rim (i'm going to yell about this movie until the end of days) Mad Max:Fury Road (so many non-sexualized women!! everything happens so fast but it's so good!!)

Curse of the Golden Flower - (chinese, one of the most visually stunning movies I've ever seen)

Snowpiercer - Another visually impressive movie, this time about a post-apocalyptic train rebellion.
