Anybody here like listening to podcasts? I just recently got into them and am loving Welcome To Night Vale!
Do any of you listen to it?
I love podcasts! I've listened to Night Vale a couple of times and enjoyed it! But I mostly listen to informative podcasts like This American Life and Radiolab
I loooove podcasts! I listen to WTNV, TAL and Radiolab as well, for the most part they're pretty good and I try to keep up with new episodes every few weeks. Also from NPR I quite enjoy Science Fridays, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, and The Prairie Home Companion. Are those technically podcasts, since you can still listen to them online? :P
I also listen to:
Idle Thumbs, a video game podcast that updates every wednesday (today, hooray!) made by several people who work in the video game industry. They have a "book club" podcast that isn't updated anymore but really nice to go listen to the handful of episodes there as well.
Criminal, I think this one updates twice a month? This one is about true crime and I can only listen to some of them. Some are super violent stories, and they interview eyewitnesses and victims. But some are not violent at all and very interesting: black market for venus fly traps, a persistent book theif, romance scams, a Buddha that eliminated crime in a neighborhood in oakland, the misplaced ashes of the wife of a murder novelist. They're all very interesting.
Knifepoint Horror, amazing horror stories told in first person, updates infrequently.
Pseudopod, very popular and high production quality, horror stories of all kinds with new narrators every week. By sheer volume there's going to be stories that are great and stories that are meh, but if you're up for it there's a lot of gems to be found in their extensive archives.
Meet The Composer, interesting, fluid talks with composers of modern music, very inspiring if you're a creator of any kind or just like listening to people talk about music
I Was There Too, the host interviews people who worked on the sets of notable, memorable films (example: the woman who played the demon face in The Exorcist)
I've tried a little of: Doug Loves Movies (comedians playing film games), Love + Radio (raw and random real life stories, The Living Room was especially good), The Indoor Kids (video games), and The X-Files Files (watching the X-Files lol) as well, not sure how much I like them but I'm gonna keep listening and see if they grow on me.
So that's what I'm listening to these days! I'm always on the lookout for more though! I want more horror podcasts, because I'm so picky about narration I go through a lot of them feeling unsatisfied. Also looking out for podcasts about art, any kind of art, whether it's art appreciation or the creative process, and podcasts about paranormal/real life spooky stuff.
I mostly listen to Welcome to Night Vale and The Thrilling Adventure Hour. I also started listening to Sex Nerd Sandra which is pretty humorous and informative lol.
I'm looking for more podcasts to listen to. I'm going to try the Dead Author's Podcast since I love Paul F. Tompkins on TAH.
I'm mostly looking for fictional or comedic podcasts but it's hard to find new ones lol.
