I believe that Subeta has decided that pets will always be at 10 for happiness, so there is no need to play with toys or plushies. That said, perhaps you should file a ticket to remind Staff that Major Drills has not caught up with the times, and that he still asks us to play with our pets.

Do your Pets have Minions attached? They keep the happiness of your Pet at 10/10.

Really? It's the minions that keep the pets happy? I thought it was the playing with toys, which we dont need to do anymore.

Yes, Minions keep a Pet happy. The best way to watch it is when you adopt a Pet from the Pound. They normally arrive with 0/10 but if you give them a Minion their happiness climbs to 10/10 within a couple of hours even if they're otherwise starving or have zero health points. :3
