Lately, as I'm sure everyone has noticed, Alexander's quests have gotten to be a little too pricey and some books that are mid-range rarity are so high up in price that not only will we not profit from giving the book to the quest, but overall it's jut not worth purchasing.

Ex: Book of Nature, r70 - 95k in shops Female Clothing Patterns, r65 - 95k in shops

I can't remember the book off the top of my head but I know that there is a normal rarity book that is asked for on a regular basis that is now 200k in shops!!

But I have also noticed that Alex doesn't ask for the full pool of stocking books in his own shop. The newer books that have been put in his shops have dropped majorly in price over time, and there are books like the academic textbooks that aren't in his pool of items. If there could be some way to get these books into the circulation for Library Quests, this may possibly get him asking for these normal rarity books that have shot up in price and will maybe even out the quests a little more. It's no fun to have a quest that we can't do simply because the demand for the items is so high they are unaffordable. But there are a lot of books that Alex doesn't ask for right now that could help with this.

I would LOVE to see Alexander ask for a wider pool of things. I'm really tired of seeing the same five books come up again and again.

The prices, however, also have to do with the fact he was just weekend quest and item restocks in general have been throttled back as to be nearly nonexistent. Supply is limited at the moment which doesn't help the prices.

Nah, those prices were like that even before the weekend quest. I actually think most people quit the quests with those books asked for.

True, I know I quit those quests, but WQ does contribute. As does the hell that restocking's become.

Point being I do support the pool being widened, there are a lot of books out there selling for under store price and that seems a missed opportunity to bump up demand for those as well.

I agree that Alexander needs to ask for a wider range of books. Some of those overpriced ones can be got from vending but they don't turn up very often.

I don't generally complain about the lack of ability to make crazy profit from quests, but so far this week (Sunday to today), I've been able to complete 7 of the Library Quests that I've tried for. Just over 10% of my quests have cost me less than 30k per item, and two of those are because I actually happened to have the book in my own shop, by some tiny miracle.

By and large I like how questing works, in that very few of them are ever guaranteed to be highly profitable. But man, that one's really just like lining up to get punched in the gut repeatedly...a wider pool would certainly be nice to see, if nothing else so I can have a week of doing something other than clicking 'Start', noticing a book that keeps coming up and costs about 90k, sighing, clicking 'Quit Quest', rinsing, repeating....

Personally, I just want the beanbags to be taken out of Blue Sky so I can actually VEND books again. That'd be cool. Thanks

I had to quit several of his quests today. He asked for three times. It's a Common item, currently selling for 96k. No way that's worth doing. I don't expect to be able to complete every quest, but this is nuts!

Yeah, the books shoot up in price when Library is WSQ, but I've noticed book prices being crazy for weeks now. And it seems like Alexander is obsessed with certain ones. Maybe someone should look into that. Looks like he's buggy. :/

I think the main problem is the lack of restocks, so even the low rarity books are getting weirdly expensive. Fix restocking and the prices should even out a bit.

Not that I expect that to happen, lol.

even before the NPC shops went to all crap the Library prices for books have been ridiculous. This isn't something that happened in the past week, these books have been very expensive for awhile now.

Was it before? The shops have been messed up for a while, but admittedly I'm not a restocker so I may not be remembering correctly.

I'm 100% sure these books have been skyrocketing for months now. I do think that restocking problems have made it /worse/ but this is an issue I've been noticing for awhile. I've been debating for awhile now about making this topic haha

I agree with either take them out of the machine or up the odds of vending books even if just by a few percent. I'd also like to see Alexander asking for other book related items like bookmarks too.

Hm, all right. I've personally only noticed that some stuff has gone up really recently and others Alexander asks for have always been expensive, so I thought it was mostly restock "fix"-related. idk though.

Yeah I've had a lot of expensive quests from Alex even before this mess with restocking started. It would be really nice if he could ask for a wider variety because I'm pretty sure I skip more of his quests than I finish on any given day :L

FWIW, About Coffee sold out of my store for 2,700 sP on 5/19. So this change is about a week old.

But yeah, that's ludicrous. No reason why it should be that high.

I'm a bit curious if there is a reason that he doesn't ask for all the books in the Book Nook. I know I've been asked for the odd restocking books like [item=Fur Dos....and Donts.] but I know I've never seen the Pop Up books show up.

I'm all for him asking for a wider variety of books..just did his quests - was only able to complete 3 out of 15.

I can't see paying 50k - 75k+ for a book and getting next to nothing back in a payout. Doesn't add up in my book.

I would really like for more books from the Book Nook to be added to his pool. He seems to ask for a really limited amount of books, really.
