I would love to see an increase in the number of shops/galleries we can have.

I don't know if this would be too much of a tax on servers, or what ever else technical deals with such things, but I figured I'd suggest it and find out ^_^

I'm pretty sure the limit is 10, which honestly seems like more than enough.

Hmm...well if 10 is the limit, I'd like to see it higher, if, that is they intend to go through with the plan to limit the items you can put into a shop. I currently have 9 shops and was just thinking of buying 2 more, even without the limit currently in effect.

I have way too much stuff!

I personally don't see the use for a bunch of shops. I have 6. One that is actually a shop, one hoard, one gallery, one for food for later, and two for stuff I can't frag. -_______- And honestly I don't even like having the extra two. They make me mad. I would much rather see the ability to buy more categories so people wouldn't have to buy a million shops in order to sort all of their things. They could have one shop for everything. Just like, a shit ton of categories. c_c

Side note though, one of your shops is completely empty and you could totally utilize that.

Yeah that shop just got emptied earlier in the week and I haven't quite decided how to maximize its use yet. I have a selling shop and a gallery, the other shops are all storage.

Problem is twofold for why I want more shops. One is beyond a certain size it's very cumbersome to autoprice, takes hours, if it works at all. Second is it takes a long time to pull stuff out of shops that are very full, long time to search, select, then remove. Smaller shops work way better. I'm just trying to figure out the most convenient way to divide my existing shops into a smaller groupings. Not to mention to find the time in RL in actually move stuff around.

My hoard is at 20k unique/total items. Almost everything is categorized (minus all the new event stuff I tossed into it so it's a little slow now) and it loads pretty fast.

My shop, which is under 500 items and not categorized at all, sometimes takes longer to load than my hoard.

It really just depends how you go about it. I mean, obviously you're probably not gonna sort a shop, that's a little silly. So maybe make... more than one shop, and condense your storage galleries?

Yeah, I'm really not sure how to handle it. I think I'm going to spend some time analyzing exactly how I use my shops - I mean, I generally know how I use them, but I don't really know how much time I spend on various tasks and such, so I figure that out and work on ways to make that more efficient.

I think 10 shops is more than enough. If you really just want more places to store things, either use the categories in the shops, or use the vault which was created for storing things.

Dude sell some of your stuff.

You can make categories in galleries, try that. I have 5 galleries, and really only two of those are 'galleries.' The other ones are a general hoard, one for books, and one for my lifelike dolls because they're easier to keep organized that way. Tbh I could probably combine a couple of those. The two actual galleries need to stay separate because they're for entirely different things. But besides that, I have two shops.

If you need more than ten shops and galleries, you need to get rid of some shit. Just saying.

Also - categories, man. I have a holiday gallery with almost 24k total items, and almost 6k unique, and it has like a dozen categories with everything put into its proper place - loads instantly.

- yeah it is 10.

I don't see why we can't have more shops/galleries (server willing) if we want.

I like being able to divide my stuff up and not having to move things between catagories.

I don't want to use the vault (I do use it for other items) as I want to be able to autoprice my galleries.

I could sit here and attempt to justify my use of galleries/shops to everyone but I don't think I should have to as I am not here asking for help and suggestions of what to do with my "shit". but putting forward an idea.

Yeah I'd have to say 10 is probably plenty. I have six shops/galleries right now, and in all honesty I could probably combine 3 of those if I were more willing to use categories instead of just spreading all my shit out, and my second shop is only separate so I can keep track of what I made from selling off my wardrobe. I'll probably be deleting it once it's finally empty :L

If the vault were revamped so that it were more usable, I know I for one would need less shops for sorting purposes. The vault's just so un-user friendly in terms of grouping and sorting that an upgrade would really help and, I think, minimize the need for more shops.

Point being I can totally see the reason for the request but I'd love to see the vault functionality revamped instead.

it is a server issue, though. That's why limits on the amount of items we can have shops is being implemented. Huge shops and galleries are a major strain on the servers :) And I don't recall saying any of your stuff was shit, so no need to sarcastically quote me :)

If, as you say and I have suggested, it is too much for the servers then fair dos. It's hard to tell what the site is and isn't capable of without a staff input. I really thought the hoarder achievement would have been retired by now and a shop cap implimented but we seem to still be trundling along. I always had the impression it was the shear number of items in one place that was the issue for the huge shops.

mmm, that was more of a general statement :) The vault actually works pretty well if you make categories, I have a ton of stuff in mine. And as for the limits not being implemented yet well, a lot of stuff gets talked about around here and never followed through on. So eh, maybe someday we'll have to cull down our galleries. For now, we can have ten, and like I said in my first post here, I have almost 22k in one of mine, and it loads well because I have everything categorized. If you need more than ten shops/galleries that hold that many things, you probably do have too much stuff. Sorry if I offended you with the word shit. I cuss sometimes :)

- It's not so much about the quantity of items I have as the different uses I have for them.

I currently have 3 shops 1, for regular items under 1m which I autoprice 2, for items over 1m that I don't want to be devalued by the autopricer because of a random undercutter 3, event items again I don't want these to get devalued by autopricing though I do autoprice this shop but having them seperate makes it easier to find and take out the cheap ones

I currently have 7 galleries 1, for all the items I love 2, for foods for my eating pet (which on occasion I autoprice so he eats the cheapest items first). 3, a rares gallery for finding cheap items to frag (autopricing to find cheapest items) 4, storage for beastie, fireside burnables, flowers and more (autopricing to find cheap items). 5, event extras, I check the prices and when they are worth enough they got to the event shop 6, items under 1k that I have pulled from my main shop and are waiting for to go back up in price or alternately for item drive or beastie 7, My hoard gallery.

As you can see most of my shops/galleries I use the autopricer on so while using the vault is an option (I put multiples for my main shop in it) it wouldn't work for me.

Admittedly if the got rid of the hoarder achievement then I would have one more shop/gallery slot ^_^;
