Hi, I'm Jai. I'm looking for an artist to draw a 1090x680 cell-shaded background for me. I will be using the background for my profile so there are some small details the artist should be aware of if they work on this. But first, let me show you what I want:

REFERENCE!

STOP JUDGING MY BAD ART! I did it quickly in paint so you get the general idea of what I want. Basically a beach background. It needs to have a sign on one side and a surfboard on the other. You'll be drawing one whole image, but I'm going to cut into the four labeled pieces shown in the reference....so basically, the a big chunk of the middle section of the image will not matter so you half-ass that part if you want xD Anyway, while drawing this, be aware of how I'll be cutting it. In the reference, I labeled each piece. Below, I listed the dimensions of those pieces for your reference. The only part you really have to worry about is the wooden sign. I need the sign to be close to bolded dimensions I have listed below (since I need to make sure all my links fit into it).

1. 908x130
2. 300x495 (wooden sign: 285x445)
3. 172x680
4. 908x25

As for the surfboard, I'd like it be similar to my forum image on the right or like this (click). Something with sea turtles. Or sharks. Or a squid. Or a kraken. Or all of them.

Anything else I didn't mention is up to you (weather, time of day, colors, etc). Have fun with it.

My info and example links are HERE, I don't have a cell shaded background example, but it'd come under the cell shaded character prices. Cost would be £65, lineart, flats and shading. The working size will be about twice what you need, but I'll supply both the fullsize and the smaller. I could also paint it like this LINK, but it might take me a little bit longer, though with no character involved probably not too much longer P=

Hi! I love your examples! I would absolutely love it if you could do this for me. The painted style is even better. The info page says you price by the hour so if I choose the painted style you reference, is it going to cost more (since it takes longer)? :o

If it takes longer... That's why I charge by the hour it can be super dependent on what I'm painting, the night sky painting took hardly any time at all because you can be so loose with that kind of thing you know? Characters take longest P= So I don't like having fixed prices for them because it can end up being unfair, either on the commissioner or me. I'm guessing painting this background like the night sky example would probably take me 3-4 hours, presuming it goes smoothly/depending on what I'm portraying, a really rough sea takes longer than calm water, but I'm guessing you'd want some decent surf?. The sea shouldn't take me too long, sand and wood is fine, I think the longest bit would be the design on the surf board tbh P= that and final touch ups.
