I've been lurking around for about two weeks or so, playing games and doing quests, but I have a bad habbit of shying away from social interaction over the internet so I never got around to creating one of these threads. Today however, I felt social, so here I am I guess? I came here due to being displeased with the current state of neopets and finding this site by accident, I am very happy with it so far (the art for the pets are great! All the colors!), even though I am quite sure that Subeta doesn't have any minion as cute as the Meowclops from Neopets, sadly.
I am 20 years old and live in scandinavia, studying computer science at university and spending the rest of my time drawing, playing video games or even tabletop RPGs as well as reading way too much manga and creepypastas. I really like horror and spooky stuff of all kinds but I also love flower patterns and cute animals.

Welcome to the site! c: I haven't been on Neopets in almost a decade but I can tell you that Subeta now is much better than Neopets even 8 or so years ago haha. I do remember Meowclops being adorable though, along with a few other things. Subeeta is a bit friendlier though, and allows more room for you to grow with it the longer you're here. My interests are about as diverse as yours-- I can be screaming about Repo! the Genetic Opera and how cute baby goats are in the same go. Yeah the community here seems a bit friendlier, I don't think I ever talked to anyone except my IRL friends on neopets. Also on Subeta you can actually afford cool stuff like elixirs without saving up for years it seems, so that's a plus!

It was always super intimidating on the boards because the wrong word could get you in trouble. D: Here we still have rules of common decency, but they're not so suffocating. That's definitely a bonus! Pretty much anything released here you can get without needing to spend real money. Even the currency you buy with real money can be bought from users with the onsite currency, so it's really nice to know things are accessible. It can be a bit tough, but that's what goals are for. c:

It's for exclusive items, generally! You can buy things in the Cash Shop, including gold accounts, or if you save enough, you can use it to buy Custom Wearables (user submitted wearables) in the Custom Wearables forums. You can also buy extra pet slots and name changes using CSC. c: There's a lot of functions for it, it just depends if you want to focus on your pets, your wardrobe, or other areas of the site. You can also pay for hard to find items/sets or art with it.
