I got them around 2 months ago and I have almost completely adjusted to them, but things are awkward. For one I'm a classical singer, so it makes singing hella awkward, doable, but awkward. And also kissing... I cut up my boyfriends lips today... I wasn't sure if I tasted blood until he pulled away making an uncomfortable face...

I had them for a few years in middle school and it wasn't always great but definitely worth it in the end. Using the little packets of wax they gave always helped if a piece was rubbing the wrong way. And after a while as your teeth straighten they might rub less on the inside of your lips because they're in a more natural curve if that makes sense.
My worst braces memory was when I was on a trip to Disney World and somehow my wire slid sideways such that it was no longer attached to the last few brackets on the right side and stuck out about a half inch toward the back of my mouth on the left side. D: the wax could only do so much and I was stuck with it like that for a week until we went home.
My worst braces injury came from colliding with another girl during a soccer game and her braces cut my lip :( I looked like I had been punched in a fight haha.

I also had braces for about three years. I had a lot of anxiety about it and never wanted to smile with my teeth. I still compulsively cover my mouth when laughing sometimes even today. The worst part was definitely trying to continue playing a brass instrument in band class. :(
I love my parents for getting braces for me though. I had really jacked teeth.
Yeah. For now it's looking like I'm gonna have them until college ends for me...

I also used to have braces when I was 12/13. My teeth are so tiny, the brackets covered up all of my teeth only showing metal in my mouth D:
Ugh, throw back to have braces. One time I got a pube stuck in them, I almost threw up. Nuff said...
I wore braces from the time I was 12 all the way till I graduated high school due to a severe overbite.
I had rubber bands and all but since I would forget to wear them.. my braces kept having to be re-adjusted. They were taken out when I graduated high school.
Anywho, eventually you get used to them and don't eat taffy with them. I didn't take that seriously and while nothing major happened, my teeth were just gummy in general with it and it was not fun.
Also, one of my friends in high school( friend's boyfriend at the time) rammed into me by accident after school was over when we were hanging out and so much blood. XD
He just looked at me and was all, dude, I'm sorry but i turned out ok. He had rammed part of the braces into my gums..-_-; so yeah...
