Exactly as the title suggests; I feel like Mechalag shouldn't be one of the battle opponents in the BQ pool of mid-level opponents. He takes far too long to beat and can stretch out simple quests for a long, long while. x: It would be nice if an opponent not engineered to make you waste an extra several minutes fighting was not part of a quest.

It's a nightmare when you have to fight him more than once when you reach the level 10-15 quests. Makes me just want to never do the Battle Quests ever again. I'd rather face other challenging opponents than this massive waste of time.

Your suggestion basically boils down to wanting him removed because you don't like him. This is why we have a Skip option (although hopefully it will be changed to actually guarentee a new opponent.) If you don't want to spend the extra few minutes to earn your 450 EXP then I have some bad news for you about the things you're going to have to deal with when you get to the likes of General Error and such to earn your EXP.

And lucky for you, if you do want more challenging opponents you can work on getting that pet of yours statted up and ready for the next range of BQ opponents and then you get to completely skip to level 15 every day, never seeing him again if you don't want to! But I don't agree with removing him from BQs because you don't want to wait until you are strong enough to skip him completely, by jumping to level 15, and still have the ability to do more quests.

I personally loved Mechalag because it let me test strategies or just work with fun builds that let me do things other opponents wouldn't because they didn't last as long, or I wasn't able to equip the useless, but potentially fun crystals, like thief or freezing baguettes due to needing those slots for more essential crystals.

Although I do feel a few adjustments could be made to the BQ challenger pool, I don't think removing challengers is the answer. Maybe swapping out him for Daemon between the normal challengers and boss challengers could work, but not completely removing him. Actually, moving Daemon to the normal challengers pool would be a better solution.

you only have one or two chances to skip him. For example, I ran into him three times today, and only had the option to skip him once. And getting that exp is rather helpful towards statting up my pet towards facing more challenging opponents. That 1000 something exp is another stat for me and players like me. I can beat him, but it takes forever and just makes bqs not a lot of fun for some people. Besides his high health, dealing with the high rate of freezing he sometimes has is frustrating.

You're talking like I'm not working towards getting my pet statted up, which is the exact opposite of what I'm doing. Until I can get my BP to a higher stat level or they change the 'skip' option to make it so that you won't get the exact same battle opponent right after you skip, we're stuck with mechalag.

I know you're working on your pet and I'm sure you're trying hard to raise his tier, but it sounds like you want an easy way out. I realize this is a difference of opinion, but I feel like Battle Quests aren't something that is tedious for the sake of necessity. Subeta has always had an issue with not knowing how to make something interactive and fun that makes players want to come back for more, so they always end up making something that forces players to come back for more for the sake of a reward after the umpteenth time. But I don't feel like the reward for BQs is a necessity. The extra stats are nice, but not required. Which is why I feel like BQs are exempt from the idea that they need to be easy enough for people to do everything within a certain time limit while still being able to deal with a busy lifestyle or whatever.

Like I said, I've dealt with the same thing you're dealing with. I still deal with that! Right now Saggitarius can take me upwards of an HOUR to beat. Some days I have the time and the patience and I tackle him for the win for that extra stat and some days I don't want to bother and try and restock a booster for those stats or I just give up completely for that day and do something else. I never feel like I'm owed the stat, though, and I never have felt like I'm owed the EXP within a certain time limit.

Honestly, there are probably a couple people I would rearrange or change for the sake of adding enjoyment to BQs, like giving GE the chance to drop Imp tokens, but I can't really see Mechalag as one of those people.

I pretty much agree with . I could just as easily say hey, take prodigy out of bqs because he's hard and takes too long to beat, but that would be based on my personal wishes, rather than something that improves bqs for everyone. I don't think removing Mechalag because he takes a while to beat would improve bqs for everyone. Now, if we were just talking about making it so that if you skip someone they're taken out of the challenger pool for that difficulty level for the remainder of your quests, that WOULD improve bqs. It's absolutely ridiculous that you can skip the same challenger twice and STILL have them show up a third time.

I super hate the Hustler as a battle challenger. He has a habit of KOing himself and taking me down with him and it's always when I'm in terrible moods that he whips that out at me. But I don't think it's right to remove x challenger just because a person doesn't like them. It can get tedious battling them and I do get Mechalag an awful lot lately it seems but that's why the skip feature exists, even if it is limited.

Although it'd be nice if they'd get around to changing the skip feature so you can't get the same challenger twice in a row, if you've skipped. That's happened to me with the Hustler and ughhh. I like 's suggestion a lot.

without a doubt, mechalag takes some time to take down, but hes also arguably one of the easiest hard opponents. But, if you plan on sticking with battling, which I hope you do, you'll soon find yourself wanting battles to be over as quick as back when mechalag took too long. Baenwurath, the hardest of opponents can take significantly longer to beat :P. But they're also much more challenging and, to me at least, more fun.

My point is, battling isn't quick nor easy. Making BQs 2 or 3 mins shorter each day isn't gonna change that, in fact just by developing an efficient system yourself you could cut far more time out.

It's a mechalag. What do you expect? ;)

If I remember correctly, Mechalag used to have more hp before that, and people complained about it and it's eventually lowered to its current 4.5k. It's a long fight, but not super tough when you have a few hundred strength and enough healing to soak up it's low damage.

Just wait til Felibot. It has 5.5k hp and is just a grind as well.

I totally agree with . Mechalag is not difficult to take down, he is just so laggy that it is no fun to battle him. And although you can choose to "skip" him, as says, I for one would rather save my precious skip option for somebody more formidable, such as Saggi.

I don't support this suggestion. Just like regular quests, you're gonna get some you don't want to do.

No really, I don't think we should remove Mechalag (or any other opponent) from the current roster. Some are quick and easy to beat, others are just annoying brats but that's how it should be, sorry. If anything, there should be more opponents to make the pool of opponents bigger and less boring. c:

please don't remove Mechalag. i love him! he was the first of hard opponent that i can beat. this is when i'm at tier 4 and didn't know Aegis Blight is catered for him. took me almost half an hour to beat him when the BQ only has half an hour limit. it was fun! now, even he took 5 minutes of my time, at least i'm paying attention when fighting him. i got to study different strategy with him. if anything, i like having opponent with high hp and average strength. it let me enjoy the battle, not just battling as a daily chore. freeze first round and bomb next round get dull after a while.

I don't really like Mechalag as an opponent either but there are a number of challengers that are going to take longer than others depending on what your pet's tier is. Felibot takes longer to defeat than Jacques. Saggi and Sandragon take longer to beat than the Cursed Effigy. It's annoying to keep getting them when you're pressed for time, but I certainly wouldn't want to see any of them removed because of that. You just have to keep at it and remember that every little bit helps.

No, do not want. I like Mechalag. He's a giant hulking robot and every time I take him down in less time than previously I feel like I've accomplished something. Leave him in - if he takes up too much time, theres a skip button you can use.
