I am totally on your nerd level. I got chills watching it. I cannot wait for this damn movie.

The aesthetic seems exactly right, at least so far as what we've seen so far. I've heard they're using far more practical effects this time around and relying less on CG (i.e. the cute little soccer ball droid BB-88 is a real robot). I think that makes a big difference in putting the look of it closer to the original than the way-too-slick-and-shiny prequels.

He's real?!?! That's amazing.

And yeah. That was one of my big complaints out the prequels. Everything was SO NEW AND SHINY AND FANCY compared to what was supposed to come after it. This looks like it matches more closely, like you said.
