I'm hoping sticking this in the 'avatar' subforum is more appropriate than the overall suggestions forum.
I like the idea of having a notification if our avatar gets "liked."
It should: Opt-in, with the default being turned off until the user turns it on, and can be toggled Anonymous- there's no reason to give the names of who does the liking Have a timestamp (Hovering over dance events, for example, say "less than a minute ago" and similar)
Edit: It's been brought to my attention that staff doesn't want more opt-in notifications, so I'm striking out the original suggestion of notifications for likes, but keeping the 'like count on shared avatars.'
Or maybe roll this idea into the existing 'shared avatar' thing. If wearing an outfit that's been 'shared' then while it is active in the 'shared' page, there can be a count of how many people liked it? Here's a screenshot of edited HTML to show what I mean.
Hmm, I don't think HA likes are worthy of an event. It's not an alert, reminder or notification for anything, like shop purchases, mails, dances, and such. I do agree with the idea of liking shared avatars, just not with the part that you have to wear it at the moment. We should be able to visit someone's shared HAs page and like what, well, we like. :)
I personally like the idea of having a little event saying that someone liked my avatar. I can only tell when I go to my user dashboard and that's very infrequently, so, by the time I notice that someone gave me a like, I've already changed HA five or twelve or ninety times.

Nah, this doesn't seem necessary. It's such a tiny part of things. And considering how events are constantly either not showing up or not deleting, we really don't need to add to that mess.
If events actually worked properly, I'd like this. But they don't, so I'd probably just end up getting annoyed, lol.
No thanks. There are enough notifications around here already. Liking an HA doesn't affect game play. It's just for fun.

I would actually like this. I don't check my dashboard very often and I'd probably use it to see what outfits are liked and which aren't. Plus it would just make me feel good to know when/if someone likes my ha! :)
Nahh, HA likes don't seem like an event worthy thing.
"Opt-in, with the default being turned off until the user turns it on"
I like it. I enjoy knowing what outfits of mine people like (especially if it's one I love). And I agree that events would have to be working better before I would want it implemented, but I love the idea of everyone is automatically opted out. That way all of the people who said no / it's not event worthy don't have to worry about it, but those who'd enjoy it could.
But it's definitely not something I'd put at the top of Subeta's to do list. It'd still be nice to see, though. :)
forever collecting:
to put in my food gallery!
Please no. I already receive more than enough useless events (Hello "your xyz buff is gone"-events, I'm talking about you.), there's really no need for more of them.
Liking an HA doesn't affect game play. It's just for fun.
Part of game play is the avatar system. I'd say a rather large part for some of us.
I do agree that the event system would need to be functioning properly, and that this would be very low priority.
Staff said they'd prefer not to have any more opt-in toggles unless necessary.
More should be done with the shared avatar feature when higher priority problems are resolved though.

yes, HAs are a huge part of the site, but liking your HA doesn't affect gameplay and I would hate to have a bajillion events saying I have likes for my HA.

I think this would be a really cute idea. It reminds me a bit of a personal version of Style-File! :D
