I am not suggesting we make everyone use the same body type. I mean to suggest changing the wardrobe option from 'Sex: Male or Female' to 'Body type: Breasts or No Breasts' or something similar. There are multiple reasons why a woman might not have breasts, or a man might, and then non-binary folks are also thing. After all, just think of how Quentin would feel misgendering themself to make a HA with a bodytype that matches their own. I just think it would be nice! Not sure if I'm the only weirdo who cares about this but I figured I'd make the suggestion and see where it goes. And somehow I keep posting topics without finishing them. I think pressing enter by accident does it. Heh.
edit:
posted an even better option that I love where instead of text (Male/Female/Base 1/Base 2/etc), it would just show images of the two different bases and allow you to choose that way - much like how eyes and skintones are chosen. Example:
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Lol. Sorry. I didn't mean that I wanted to destroy all men, I just somehow keep posting unfinished threads.
I actually think this would be really nice to see, it's a tiny change but makes things a lot more inclusive. It's the kind of thing that would have really made me smile to see for the first time tbh.
Pretty much, the human avatar refers to the biological sex, and not the gender. I think most everyone is aware of that.
It should specify this more, but yeah. It sucks, but I don't find "breasts" and "no breasts" or "base A" and "base B" to be as descriptive as "male" and "female". There are times where the gender binary is seriously hurtful and discriminatory, but I don't think using it for human avatars bases on Subeta is one of these times.
Lmfao no! I'm trans, but I'd never suggest this. Male and female people make up like 99% of the population. That's life, that's reality, live in it.
Oh and non-binary people? Like people who are born with both or neither biological sex? Yeah, that's a thing. That's a thing that's rare. And no, Quentin wouldn't care because she's a character in a game. Lol. If you want an androgynous avatar, choose the male base because it doesn't have boobs.
Not gonna try and debate the nature of gender and whatnot, just thought it's be a nice option. :/
Yeah, this has come up before and while I could get behind changing the wording to "sex" instead of "gender" for the male/female options, I definitely think they should stay as male and female.
I really don't think it's offensive to have to choose a sex for your HA, even if it's labeled as gender. Granted, I'm cis but I still doubt I would care if I wasn't :L
If it's an issue to you, I have a suggestion I've just tested that will require zero programming from Subeta's end
Do you use the web browser Firefox? There is an extention named "FoxReplace", which allows you to replace text inputs for other things. I used it on Flight Rising to get rid of Unnamed dragons because people were whiny, and I decided to test it for the wardrobe
The bad thing is that it's going to affect all inputs over the internet, so just enable it when you know you'll have to use the wardrobe.

I really wish we had a browser wording modifier who used URLs, so I could actually filter out a lot more stuff

Sadly topics like these tend to derail very quickly :/ But at least some tiny bit of progress was made.
Yeah, it was changed, I just saw that when I was testing in the wardrobe
Saw your post before you edited it. Yeah, if you're born with sexual organs that differ from the binary male and female and are therefore intersex... that's non-binary. That's exactly how it works.
I don't agree with the non-binary "in the head" gender stuff, I just don't. I think these gender things have become completely ridiculous nowadays.
As a guy that happens to be trans, I get the not wanting to click 'female' if that's not what you identify as. But, the world isn't going to cater to you. It doesn't have to and, honestly, to some extent it shouldn't. I for one am tired of actual issues being turned into nonsense by people who pretend they're some weird "non-binary" gender, just because they don't see themselves in either a male or female "role." It's never based on being uncomfortable with sexual organs, it's always about thinking that they don't think like a female or a male.
The wording shouldn't be changed, it's fine as it is. Unless you want a third HA type that doesn't have boobs and doesn't add a package when wearing certain clothes, choose either male or female. To be quite honest, this is trivial. Completely and utterly trivial, just like when people get upset when someone "misgenders" a fucking character. If you're so sensitive about having to click male or female in the wardrobe that is entirely YOUR problem, not the site's. I for one am sick of coddling people who are choosing to be sensitive. Being sensitive to this extreme is not a positive thing! I'm all for making sure people with legitimate issues feel safe but nowadays there are too many people who demand everyone change for them because they're super sensitive.
YEAH I see your post ninja'd mine xD I think that was a good change (and couldn't remember at all if it had been implemented already I hate the beta)!
I'm hoping this thread doesn't go down like the one made last year, though.
I could be wrong but doesnt the female base with/out boobs have a narrower waist?
Why not? It's not a difficult thing to change I suppose and it (hopefully) won't hurt anyone's feeling, so...yeah why not? As long as I can still find the option it's all good in my opinion.
But if it were to hurt the feelings of cis people I bet nobody would give a shit and tell them to suck it up, right?
The suggestion to change the text on the page with the Firefox extension (I'm sure there's at least one extension like it for all decent browsers) is the best idea. If anyone is offended over a bit of text, they can take matters into their own hands and change it on their end.
Unpopular opinion: I would feel weird having my gender just reduced to "boobs".

If your personal fortuneteller told you that this was the actual message of my posting you should definitely give them the pink slip. :)
that's totally reasonable. but the option wouldn't be for the gender of the HA, just the body type. after all, the clothes are all unisex already. and of course it doesn't have to be 'breasts' or 'no breasts' - that was just what i first thought of. it could easily be 'base 1' or 'base 2'.
