Aaaaaargh! Augh! inhales Argh graaaaaah!

I clicked "x" both on the events and on the whole box they contain. Yet like the Unliving those EEEs keep on coming back.

Same here. Heck, even the opposite problem seems to be happening: events taking a while to even show up.

I'm able to delete my events okay, but they do take awhile to show up and I'm unable to collapse categories of events

The event widget has been acting up for months, some of us can not delete events via the widget at ALL.

PLEASE fix it staff. :(

Same here... I click the x and even wait a nice chunk of time... I go to a new page.. nope that event is STILL there. I click x and wait... STILL there... third time is the charm though.

This is getting ridiculous. I first reported issues with alerts/events a few months ago. First Keith said it should be resolved, then came back later to say he was looking into it.

There's been no update from any staff member since then. Nothing's been fixed. Just as it seems to be working normally, it messes up again.

I'm sure problems with events aren't high on the list of things that need to be resolved, but this is an extensively used feature of the site and it's incredibly frustrating to have it not working correctly. Especially for this long, and during a site event which uses alerts a lot.

It was reported here as well with multiple posts from staff saying they are looking into it.. :(

Yeah I've seen that thread too. Mine started off about alerts not appearing automatically. They were only showing up on a page load (new or refresh).

It'd be nice to hear something more reassuring than "we're looking into it" at this point. It just keeps getting worse. :(

Aggressively stab delete button

I'm having both issues reported here - events taking way too long to show up and events not deleting as they should. It's gotten really annoying given the amount of events I've been getting from the current event. I wasn't aware this has been a problem for as long as it has been but I hope it is fixed soon. D:

I've gotten used to pressing the x button two or three times to delete the events. It's like double tapping a zombie D:

Sometimes it seems to be a cache issue, and they go away without being deleted again. That's definitely not always the case, though. There are also times when I have no option to delete - the button to delete the events will be missing completely.

Yeah, it really is taking them a looooong time to go away. Is this a cache issue?

I've always had the issue where events won't delete until you do it like four times, but now I've also got the issues of "events won't show up in the sidebar (despite the little '1' being there) until you go to like ten more pages" and "once the event actually gets deleted it will come back a few pages later, and no, it's not a new one because when I go to accept an invitation it gives me the 404 page or I already got accepted by that person".

It's driving me crazy. I can usually put up with my events being stubborn, but during an event where I'm getting lots of them and I need to click on them to try and get Boudewijn challenges it's super annoying.
