Would anyone be interested in these colors?
Clay's quite versatile, and actually have different colors of its own: Grey, brown, tan, red, and so on. Maybe something not as dark brown, since marsh pets already have that color.
Also, if it's multicolored then another color will be plasticine? Kind of like Wallace and Gromit.
Glass would have to be distinct from Glacier. Something sharp and jagged (or smooth edges if it doesn't look like ice), fragile, reflective, and probably with some impurities that gives it color.
I like the idea of a glass pet. I could see those being really elegant and beautiful.
Edit: I kept thinking about this and wanted to add some images. Glass pets could be done in different ways.
Blown glass:

Angular glass, kind of like a diamond:

Or they could be like a 3D stained glass/mosaic, kind of like:

Thank you!
Ohh a blown glass style would be really unique and pretty. I'm not a huge fan of the stained glass or glass and metal work though.

About the clay/plasticine suggestion, it can be made for a nostalgic pet, I guess? We already have the Nostalgic Kora.
That kora always creeps me out so much. Those shriveled eyes and hollow sockets. Please no. D:
Glass and/or clay could happen, I'm pretty indifferent. But nothing like the kora, please. D:

When you said glass, I immediately thought of Neo's ice pets (which just look like clear/blue glass to me) I was really hesitant... but seeing the blown and stained glass examples that posted, I was immediately sucked in.
I really like the blown glass (I have a ton of little blown glass animal sculptures), but I think the stained glass pets would be much more unique and I think there could be a lot more variety with them. Here are a few more examples: one, two, three, four.
So yeah, definite support for glass pets!
I think blown glass might be really good for a nostalgic pet or an experiment. I also think it would be a gorgeous idea for a full-blown pet color, but since it already fits in really well with the nostalgic/experiment pets, why not put it there?
Ah yes, there is more to glass than clear blue or colorless.
There's a huge history on stained glass, even more than just the medieval period. For example, there are techniques developed for making it with shades of color and patterns (fractured and rippled).
Studio glass is very fascinating. There are so many ways to shape and color to produce an amazing finished work.
About clay, it's related to glass as you start off with an silica mix, and when you bake it becomes hard and brittle. For example, you can have porcelain or glazed ceramic figures: monochromatic, toned, or colored.
I'm no expert, and can't describe it well so your pictures do really help. I think these materials are unique compared to other colors we have so far. Blown glass is a bit challenging to draw, but I'm sure the results will be stunning :)
Clay is SO MUCH more than kids smushing Play-Doh. As an artist who primarily works with polymer clay, its so sad (and wrong!) when people equate it to Play-Doh.
I would LOVE to see what Subeta's artists could do with a clay color! Subeta is majorly lacking in the clay department. Clay (and Glass) could even be similar to Nostalgic, having your buy the items that make up the pet. It could be a longer more item-intensive quest requiring you to go through different steps. I think that would be a nice change of pace.
Here's a very small idea of the kinds of things you can do with polymer clay. Mostly canes because I really love those, but honestly you can make anything from it. I'll try and grab more non-cane photos but I'll have to see if I can find some of my favorite artists on Flickr. I know of so many more great examples but they're all on Facebook.

I support this suggestion. :) I'm indifferent to clay, but I'd love to see Glass become a pet color and I've actually really wanted to do a glass figure-themed pet lately. I also bet the pets would be absolutely beautiful, and, yeah... I'd just love to see this.

Soooo simple but soooo pretty.

Aren't these colors both Neopets colors, though?
Oops. Just Clay is. :b
Neopets clay is an extremely boring orangey-brown lump. Subeta could do soooo much better.
Also, for the record glass used to be a color on Neopets as well. But again it was very boring, plain light blue glass-y pets.
SUPPORT! A big huge support for these two wonderful ideas because there's so much that could be done with them! Also sorry if this post counts as posting in a old thread! I cant tell whats considered "old"
Glass pets Potential styles such as Blown (mentioned), Stained/mosaic (mentioned), and then there's Fractured glass (I'm thinking either just on a small part of a pet, or even a pet that's got actual broken off pieces, no blood though hehe) and what about things that are glass like or related to glass? Like Mirrors (Pets that have reflections off them in their image, or perhaps reflections within themselves?), OR Tinted glass (pets with parts that are shaded darker etc?), Or what about prisms? Not going towards spectrum, rather a pet thats glass that has little reflected rainbows or prisms like those little light catcher crystals you can get for your window??
I think that having different pets in these different styles all under one "Umbrella" termed color would be cool. So like base it off what a pet is like, so maybe Ruffie would be glass with prisms cause its a 'cutesy' pet, Mortiking would be Tinted glass cause their sorta 'darker' pets, Charlies could be fractured glass or tinted cause they are 'darker/bad', and the Neela could be stained/mosaic cause I dunno? I tried to match pets to the style that best suited them, just you know in my opinion haha :P
And I ran out of space to write anything more, but I have several ideas for Clay pets and would like to say was totally right, So much could be done with "Polymur Clay" style, and what about earth clay (browns and reds?), ceramic, Modelling/play doh (I imagine more derpy looking pets but hey), polymur clay, Air dry (Whites) and more.. haha I type too much..
There are some interesting suggestions here, but they're suffering from random and brainstorminess, for lack of a better term. Almost all of the unique styles here could and would be better represented as an overlay. If a "proposed new color" could be anything, then it's not really a proposed color.
Maybe someone could start a new more-specific thread for each color? Out of all of the suggestions here, the blown-glass and the plasticine seem the most likely. The remaining idea might very well be idea-fodder for something Nostalgic.
I have no opinion on Clay Pets but if the Glass Pets would looks like the ones others posted here (blown glass) I'd fully support them.
Making a post 'cause I might want to come back to this and tribute visually when I find the time... (Maybe tonight) I see it all in my head, but words/descriptions are like blaaaah I like blown glass the best. (Having a problem coming up with a name other than "glass", but I don't mind being that straight forward about it either.)
I can see blown glass in these ways;
Pets are a bit more simplified in look. They keep their original colors, but painted in a pattern. Similar to these figurines http://www.sz-wholesaler.com/userimg/563/583sw1/glass-animal-562.jpg and the rooster posted above.
OR
A specific color palette is chosen for all pets and painted in a pattern like or similar to the above. Though... This becomes a problem 'cause unlike other colors we have, there aren't any palettes more strongly related to blown glass. It can be in any color.
Another thing is that, how will our pets be made into this color? Would it be like our toy maker, that we have a glass blower??? Buhh
Solsticesprite is right, there needs to be more thought put into this.
Glass is so gorgeous and it can go somewhere, but this needs to be a lot more solidified.

Somehow I don't see either of them that appealing. We already have a color that turns pets into objects. Then again, it's always interesting to see what the artist come up with so I'm not exactly against the suggestions.
The blown glass pets sound interesting. It could be in the same shop as the toymaker. Perhaps his apprentice that usually makes the glass eyes for the toys decided to make a glass toy and the kids loved it so that they were able to do bless the glass like the toys.
