Forums

• Posts now load separately, hopefully speeding up the forums for everyone by a LOT. This should be particularly nice when you're spending a lot of time in the forums dancing ;)
• I've also made a number of caching changes to the front page of the forums, hopefully speeding it up as well.
• Each post is now being indexed the first time you load it, so that in the near future we can have working forum search (that is just a preview). I'll have more information that soon :)

Notes These changes were made so that each post is loading it's data separately, and particularly hard to load posts (ones with lots of items linked, or with lots of pings) can take longer to load without making the entire page take an extra few seconds.

It also means that we can find these harder to load posts much easier and tweak our settings to ensure they start to load faster.

Hopefully all of these changes make the forums a lot nicer experience during Masquerade!

I can't like posts though, right now, and editing them gives a post full of errors, although it seems that the edit goes through fine :)

When I asked for Forum Search, this wasn't quite what I had in mind XD I can see you've worked hard on this, and it is good to be able to find a specific post with the search term. But can it be tweaked so that it would search in threat titles as well? Because, for example, if I want information about Masquerade, and type in Masquerade.... it shows me hundreds of results, of every forum post tat has the word. Ultimately, it wasn't of much help at all.

I'm amazed - the forums actually do load exceptionally faster. This is a very nice change and a step in a positive direction, I'm looking forward to more things like this.

Yay, hopefully these updates will make the forums a much nicer place. :) Having forum search again will be nice too, it can still be done with Google but having it on-site will be much easier.

I hadn't even noticed until you pointed it out.. would it be possible to change the color slightly to make it more obvious? It almost matches completely on my side.
