Hello inra! Welcome to Subeta! Yes, there's a way! You can buy an extra layer slot from the beta wardrobe for 75 thousand (lasts for 31 days), or use an item called Ooh La Layers, which does the same.

Hm. I've been on Subeta since...2008, I think? Well, not sure what you would regard as a "story", so I'll leave that part blank for now. Mine are generally event or roleplay-related (<- most are both) and not particularily interesting, but I've attained a lot of fond memories on this site and both the staff and the users are very friendly. If you have any further questions we'll be glad to answer. :)

Wow, you've been here for so long! I guess this site is pretty remarkable for that. I've been to some other sites like this and a lot of users don't really stick in. About stories, I meant something like the background stories of Subeta and what had been happening around here. You see, a few days ago I did Sarah's quests and went to her part of the quest shop, and there was something about "Amy" and how she'll be missed? Yeah, I was confused about who she was and such~ haha. And yes, everyone here are so friendly, I'm rather appalled!

You're welcome. :) And I suppose that's an easy mistake to make. The layer cards, I believe, are to be combined with alchemy tokens and some other stuff at the Alchemist's place in Shadowglen Underground (zombies only, though). I'm not that old of a user and I don't play daily - I don't think most people do. I'm generally most active from December to April, because in December there's the advent calendar, in February there's Survival Celebration (the zombie-event) and in a few days there's the Masquerade (steampunk-themed danceball). ^^ So all-in-all though I've been a member for a long time I generally only come online either when events are happening or when I'm having a bad day and feel like haunting the freebie art threads.

As for Amy...she was an NPC on the site up to the 2009 Omen Islands plot. I didn't take part of said event, as I wasn't really active back then. I did dig up a SubetaWiki article on her, with a link to said plot. In short she was the NPC who was responsible for Newbie Quests before Sarah was, but she was sacrificed to the sea god Merana.

Here's a rough event's calendar. Generally the events shown there occur yearly. There's also generally one or two (sometimes three?) bigger events each year, which might have plots, minigames, activities. For example, that aforementioned Omen Islands plot. Sometimes you might even get NPC accounts interacting with users on the forums, which I think is really cool. It's just...you want a story, I'll give you one, though I am no storyteller. Once upon a time there was this multi-year plot for Survival Celebration, regarding the rights of zombies and other undeads. As an explanation it should be said, that Survival Celebration is an event, during which you can infect your HA and have it slowly turn into a zombie. First year of SC the infection spread through the forums - zombies could "bite" non-zombies on the event forum and at the end of the event a cure was made available. That epidemic was partially resolved, when a zombie NPC named Skitters came forth and managed to convince people that a lot of the zombies were sentient and more-or-less peaceful. Later on, for a couple of years, you could infect yourself during Survival by wearing a special zombie mask and refreshing Shadowglen Graveyard until a notice popped up saying essentially that you'd offended one of the local undeads and he'd bit you. :P Essentially for a few years there was a bitter rivalry between Skitters and another NPC zombie, Ecks. Skitters advocated for zombies to exist peacefully with humans and not aggravate them, if I recall correctly. Ecks on the other hand was a lot more militant in her approach, wanted to keep people out of Shadowglen and despised humans for the way they acted around zombies. She was also convinced that humans were planning on either killing or force-curing all the undeads, I believe. So you'd get this lovely plot, where you had to pick sides and run errands for your chosen side. A little love story here, an airborne illness of unknown origin there. But I digress, apologies. Back to the topic, you would also get people on the event forum just...going along with the whole humans-vs-zombies or Skitters-vs-Ecks rivalries. There were these lovely, heated debates on the forums and people gathering into their own player-made, unofficial factions. Three main ones emerged, I believe. Warriors of Light, who essentially believed that undeads ought to be killed off, Undead World Organization (UWO) who masqueraded as an innocent pro-zombie organization, but believed that the undeads are ABOVE livings and should rule over them and the ZHA (Zombie-Human Alliance) who were essentially pascifists. I mean. Those were legitimate, player-made, player-kept forum topics. Made and inhabited by normal players, for roleplay purposes. And then, one Survival Celebration, Ecks started posting in the UWO's forum thread. She sort of sauntered in and asked to speak to the leader and got offered snacks and TALKED to people for a few posts, revealing that she thought her and UWO's philosophies shared a lot of similarities. She never did get to meet the leader of UWO, but... But...I mean...NPC accounts interacting with players. How cool is that!? That had been my first year of actively taking part of Survival Celebration and up to that point I'd viewed NPCs largely as something distant (even though Ecks and Skitters had forum accounts and they occasionally debated in their self-made forum threads). I've never seen it happen in Gaia or Neopets or on any other site that's even close to the size of Subeta and that just...I mean it sort of surprised and impressed me! I mean, I've observed quite a few events since then and such things ARE rather rare (and if they do occur, then they are brief), but they still happen.
