I'm curious to see what other people think about this. I have more than enough money to buy a backdrop but I dont really want one. --this doesn't mean I HATE them, I just choose not to have one. how do you guys feel? do backdrops make you feel complete or do you feel naked without one?

-witch I've heard some people say that it clutters an outfit and is too distracting from your main attire. But they can be fun to have, especially when you're trying to set a mood. I spend way too much on backdrops I don't use as often as some other pieces in my wardrobe, but...

These two are references to Disney, which I love.

This series of backdrops from the Cash Shop are pretty reasonably priced and beautiful.

This one is so nice too.

This comes in a bunch of different colours.

This item and the rest in the series spice up backdrops.

As you can see, there are so many beautiful backdrops. If there is one you love, definitely invest in them.

i use them to set the mood or theme. and sometime as contras for my outfit. for example:

for autumn outfit

when i want to hide HA and use animal as avatar for instance.

usually good to make my HA stand out.

this look good for blend in HA too. if you like making something like shadowy HA.

for me, as long as the backdrop is not cluttered, then i like it :) i like how backdrop can show where and when your HA is in.

I think backdrops are too distracting. I love the art. I just rarely use them. :c

It depends on the outfit for me. Usually if I'm wearing something simple or making more of a "character" HA, then I'll use one, but if the outfit is more elaborate then I don't.

I have a love and hate relationship with them lol. Mostly I use backdrops only with cosplay ha's because they seem empty without them and they can make the cosplay look more complete. With my normal ha's I barely use them as they look too cluttered with them.

I feel the EXACT same way. the art is gorgeous but sometimes I feel they're distracting.

The first time I saw people with backdrops I wondered how to get them and what the items were to make them.

Sometimes I don't use one, but for the most part I do. It just depends on what I'm doing with my avatar and if I need the special touch of a backdrop.

I never make an avatar without one. I feel it adds a story to the outfit, it makes it a character instead of just a model.

I don't feel like backdrops are distracting at all, to me they only add to the outfit. Backdrops are usually some of my favorite items, and I have quite a lot of them.

I prefer to not use backdrops. Idk, I'm more into outfits than the whole 'picture'.

If I'm doing a themed HA, I love backdrops.

Under normal circumstances, I would prefer not to use them because they can make an HA appear cluttered. There are some nicer, muted backgrounds that I really like; And I do appreciate the artistic qualities of many of the backdrops.

That's an interesting topic to bring up; I like that there are so many different answers here.
