I just saw Cinderella last night and LOVED IT!
Mini-spoilers about the music
I may just be being cautious, but I don't want to ruin anything...
I was really disappointed that she didn't sing Sing Sweet Nightingale, I think she hummed the tune a bit during one scene....
What did you think of the music?
I had no idea that the Prince was played by John Snow. :O I'm not a GoT fan, so I didn't recognize him. Cleans up well, lulz.
WHAT DID YOU THINK? I want to see it again.
I want to see Cinderella SO BADLY, i don't think its out over here yet though.
Glad to know it is good, it would be so disappointing if it was rubbish!!
I saw it last Saturday as well and really loved it! It was quirky, magical, and overall very well done! I'm a huge fan of the other adaptations - Ever After, Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, etc. - and I felt that this one was a great addition :)
About the music...
I was definitely looking forward to some singing, and was a bit disappointed in that respect. The original animation has such great songs! But you are correct that she was humming Sing Sweet Nightingale at one point. I'm glad the movie introduced me to Lavender's Blue though, I've had it stuck in my head all week :P
I hope you can see it soon! My little sister and I had been anticipating it for months! We ended up dragging our dad and brother along to see it with us. My dad had no idea what to expect (he thought it was going to be animated) and my brother only came to see Frozen Fever. They both ended up really enjoying it, while my sister and I loved it :)
I'm glad you liked it too! I'm not a big movie fan so when I find one I like, I'm always excited. :)
I didn't know about the Frozen Fever thing since I don't like Frozen. (Side note: I love Kristen/Idina/the music/Olaf, but the story is meh IMO....) Sitting in a movie theater that was 80% girls under the age of 12 who were LOVING the Frozen short was sigh-inducing.
about the music again...
Same about Lavender's Blue! Gorgeous song, I couldn't remember the words so I had to go home and look it up. :)
LOL! I think the theater I was in was more of a mixed bunch since we saw a later showing, but there were definitely a lot of little girls in love with the Frozen short film :P
The only part that really bugged me was this was one little girl walking around the theater and two babies had begun crying toward the end of the movie. I'm a big movie person and enjoy getting wrapped up in the film, so that kind of ruined the magic at the end for me :P I usually wait until maybe the third or fourth weekend after a movie is released to go see it because I really dislike crowded theaters (especially with young children), but my sister and I really wanted to see this one. I guess it's nice to be reminded that waiting can be a good thing sometimes, haha.
I saw Cinderella about a week ago and I loved it. It was pretty much exactly what I expected which was great.
I thought there were so many beautiful things about the movie. I would go see it again in the theaters if someone wanted to go with me! Haha
[flower=joy]
Thank you!
I watched it, loved the dresses... then forgot the whole movie an hour later XD
it's a nice movie and obviously they invested alot in it but sadly it had nothing memorable, no twists, no interesting characters, no character development,,, no just pretty scenery and amazing dresses for the Cinderella story disney released in the 50s.... shame really, they ended up making it bland eye candy
Actually it was Robb Stark. X) But yes, I saw the film, and liked it better than the original animated film. It had more depth to the storyline, I thought, but still kept some of the things from the original film.
Ooohhh. Yea, I'm really not a big GoT fan. XD
I think I still like the original Disney film more, but those costumes might sway me. I want to buy the film mostly so I can watch the waltz scene over and over for that dress in movement. :)
I liked that the costume designer said she wanted to make the audience feel like they were in an actual storybook, and that was why the costumes were so rich and vivid :)
And I loved Cinderella's dress - the designer also mentioned that the dress was supposed to float like a cloud and it really did xD
