I didn't have a gold account, but I got a message saying it expired. Is there just an issue with the events?

Everyone got 1 day of gold account on the 6th. It was posted in the news.

Oh, I didn't see that. I don't think I was online on the 6th.

Edit: I'm not complaining about not being on for the free day, I'm just glad the events or my account aren't messing up
