I feel like this will be one of those cases everybody will be like "omfg can we forget about the dress", but they will do the item anyways.

The Internet frequently gets hyped about something, and it usually dies down within a week or so and is all but forgotten. I don't think 'the dress' has withstood the test of time yet, and doesn't really need an item honoring it.

i feel like this is a bad idea in that the item is going to end up very dated very quickly, not unlike all those "totally random" items from the site's early years (eg anything with the word "ebil" instead of evil, etc). the potential for future secondhand embarrassment is just a bit too high here.

I really don't think this is a good idea... the hype over this dress has pretty much died down irl already and making it into an official item seems like a waste of artistic resources. And as many others have said, it just adds to the list of very dated items on the site that don't tie into any of the site lore or have significant meaning.

I gotta be honest, I do like the bands of lace on that dress. I also wonder if it would be possible to get at least 2 skirts in both color variations (if not a few more to be more than just meme items) in the Clothing Rack.
