I keep mispricing things in my shop (this isn't a shop ad, I'm seriously trying to get rid of this habit). When I type five digits it gives me satisfaction and then I move on to the next item. I blame Neopets for this. I never mispriced things there, but it's going to take some time to get used to a shop with more than five digits. Anyone else ever had similar problems? How quick will it pass? I've lost ~300k this far.
Never happened to me but maybe that's because I left Neopets long before I joined here.
I hope you'll get used to pricing your items on here quickly though, until then always double-check especially the more expensive stuff.
I got GA for a week now, I think this will help me to adapt. This and double-checking for sure :)
The first sentence of your post made me picture a car commercial. Something like the owner pleading with customers not to come to his lot because he seriously mispriced all his cars and has to honor the prices or something lol. I know you meant it with sincerity but I couldn't help what came to mind right away lol.
Anyways :p When I'm pricing my shop, when I look up the current lowest price I think in my ead exactly what my price will be, but I think of it in 2 parts. It's hard to explain but for instance if I'm goign to price something at 8999995 I'll think in my head 8999 995 as two different sequences so I'm not thinking about how many 9's to press in a row. And then as I'm typing I'll sort of count out 1 2 3 4 for the first 8999 and then 1 2 3 for the 995 rather than counting 5 9's. It sounds a bit weird but it seems to work. Of course when i'm trying to rush through editing prices of my expensive items so they're all the lowest I tend to screw up, so I guess taking your time is prolly good advice too lol.
(posted to the wrong board and then messed up my post...sorry :()
I hope the GA helps you get used to pricing around here! Maybe you could copy paste prices and change the last number only, if you're really worried :D
^ That's what I do, I copy and paste prices from shop search. I just take out the commas and change the last numbers. It makes me feel safer for those expensive items! And sometimes I will type the number with commas (like 20,000,000) and then take them out. We use commas in numbers for a reason :P I think Subeta should let us input commas in the prices (last I checked that didn't work).
Omgahhh, yesss. When I first started playing Subeta (omg, 6 years ago now) I was actively playing Neopets still, and did this ALL the time. Then at the same time I found others did this, and I bought a bunch of cool stuff cheap, so swings and round abouts lol.
I had the same problem when I started playing, even though I hadn't played Neo over a year then. Now I'm used to it and I just see the numbers in 3 digits seperated (500000 -> 500 000). You'll just get used to the length of the numbers and see when it's not long enough.
