I love them dearly but I just re-read the books and the movies leave so much out that.

Anyone else find the books to be slightly better than the movie?

(I'll admit that I prefer Julie Andrews to the description of grandmere in the books.)

I think it would have been chaotic to have Phillipe alive in the movies as well.

Fat Louie is yellow too which made me laugh because it's exactly what they did to Prim's cat in the Hunger Games.

Late reply but oh well, I'm rolling with it.

Ah I love this series so much! For me, the books and movies feel kind of unrelated - they're so different, and movie Michael and Grandmere are nothing like their book versions (though Julie Andrews is an absolute gift). The books have far more happening but the movies are great too. I love the second movie a lot more than the first, despite it not being related to the plot. Chris Pine is certainly a major reason ;P

I never read the books as a kid so when I finally sat down to read them as an adult I had to seperate the two in my mind. The books are incredible and I am really grateful they never made a third movie. I think it would have been hard to link the books to the movies at that point.

I love movie Michael. I swooned over him as a kid and I wish he would have come back for the second one. Chris Pine is still amazing though.

I can't wait for the next book in June!
