Hi everyone,
I'm Valerie and I'm new to Subeta. I'm currently playing Neopets, but I'm looking for an alternative. I haven't seen much of the site, but what I have seen has been great. The pets and colors are beautiful and I love that there are human avatars as well.
On a more personal note, I'm a 21-year-old information science student. I love to read and discuss books with others. I spend too much time on the internet, but who here doesn't? I have a chocolate labrador who I absolutely adore.
A couple of early questions (and please feel free to link me to relevant topics rather than explain from scratch): I see that there's an event going on. Is that something I would be able to participate in right away? How do I get started? Also, I've been clicking on flowers that appear randomly on pages - what are they for? Are they related to the current event, or separate?
EDIT: I think I figured out the event and the flowers, although I'm not sure I want to turn myself into a zombie.
I look forward to getting to know some people on here and would appreciate any advice you can offer about how to get started building my account (and potential new home) here on Subeta.

Welcome to Subeta :) Looks like you've gotten the hang of the event, hope you have been kissing users for candy hearts to spend in the event shop :)

I recommend doing quest to get sP and items. Shinwa's quest is a good starting point (especially since you can only do them if you haven't yet finished the other quests) to get useful items for your pet. Sarah's quest are only available until you reach a certain amount of money, so you should do them diligently, too. The reward for the wizard's quest are Wizard Tokens, which seem to come in handy later. So I'd recomment doing those three at least.
