Hi all! I thought I'd get into the CW making thing and submitted a piece only to have it rejected.
(It's a sunset style background.)
The rejection notice I got was as follows: Your custom clothing Crimson Tide was denied for the following reason(s): • ITEM: Drop shadow • ITEM: Item name does not accurately represent the item image • NOTE: This looks like it is heavily based off a photograph or something similar. If it was, please provide the reference images - even if it's not a tribute, we require these.
What does "Drop shadow" mean? The item needs a shadow drawn beneath it? (Or that I need to remove the red glow beneath it?) Secondly, how does "Crimson Tide" not accurately represent the item? Can anyone come up with a better suggestion? Finally, the background was painted (by me) years ago for this commission. I have two progress shots of the piece here and here. I looked at a lot of sunset pictures to paint it, but not any specific one and I don't have any of the originals I was looking at for reference, so I have nothing to submit to contest that I painted it. Am I just screwed on this regard?
Any advise is appreciated. :) Thanks!
, honestly, I'm not sure about the others, but I do know this one: "Item name does not accurately represent the item image"
Essentially, the CW's name has to correctly depict the CI. Something as simple as changing your name to "Crimson Tide Globe" probably would pass for the name.
Hope this helps you~
Art by ~ Sig by ~I'm pretty sure the drop shadow means the orange "shadow" beneath it. As for the name of the item, maybe you could call it Crimson Tide Globe?
As for the third denial, I think they mostly want to see you actually drew it and didn't just manipulate/painted over it. So the best you can do is explain the situation as you did here and see if that's enough. Good luck!
