Just checking in here to see what people think of my pet, Raiden the Lightning Bolt. I got his story, TC, Friends, overlays, and layout done, but I need to know if he's ready for the Pet Spotlight.

Mind checking for me? I know he's a fanpet and his story comes from the Metal Gear Wiki (it spans SO MANY GAMES!), but there was quite a bit of gore in the story that I had to cut out several of that to make the story seem a bit more acceptable. The other part I'm a bit worried about is if there's too much blank space on the profile. I know on my computer there is to the right, but that's because I have a large screen on my computer. For others, let me know if you can see a large blank space on the right or not, so I make sure that gets addressed as well.

With your advice, if he's not ready, I'll know what needs to be fixed so that he'll be ready for the next time he's nominated, though as it stands right now, he's not been kicked out, which I hope he doesn't. :D

As for the profile I'd advice you to fit the "This pet has been nominated for the Pet Spotlight!" into the set box. The TC is not exactly fitting in its box either so maybe more to the bottom because when scrolling, the images are on top of the lines.

And I don't know how likely is this to get you kicked out but the part that reads Raiden the Lightning Bolt is quite pixelated and I can see white mini pixels around the letters. You might want to fix that too!

Out of that, looks good to me. I didn't read the story tho, not much into reading right now haha

Thanks for the advice! Lemme see if I can figure this out:

1. The nomination might not fit, but I know the trophy fits, since (the one who did the coding) tested it on one of her own pets that had won previously.

2. Hmm... Treasure not fitting? Yea, I noticed that as well when it happened, but with them transparent before you highlight them, I think it makes up for that... Maybe.

3. Pixelated on the name? Yea... Didn't notice that until recently, though if the color of the name was darker, I think it'd show up a bit more.

4. Yea, that story... XD Hard thing is, if I left out parts, any MG fan would've jumped all over me, since it was originally just going to be his Metal Gear Rising Revengeance storyline instead... but I decided to err on the side of caution. XD

Also, I was needing to know if there's a large space of black on any side of the profile, since I can see it on my side, but that's because I have a large screened laptop.

I checked it out on Chrome, FireFox and IE and it looks the same on all of them, everything is where it should be. I have a widescreen monitor and there is a large black area to the far right but I don't think it's anything you'll have to worry about.

A few things I would suggest:

1. The 'Nominate a Pet' link doesn't conform to the box so that should be fixed.
2. I believe if the story comes from the Wiki then in can't be used, it has to be original content not something copied from elsewhere.
3. The scrollbars for the pet friends, story and treasure chest are all a little off. TC is biggest issue as the items come out of the box when you scroll.

A few things that I don't think will stop you from winning, but things I'd personally do to make it more aesthetically pleasing: 4) The font for the pet stats and pet friends is a little small and hard to read, might not hurt to increase it slightly. 5) The pet's name image is rather jagged and rough on the dark background and might need to be re-worked. 6) More spacing between the paragraphs in the story. 7) Remove the box around the minion's image, and maybe move the minion section down a bit to align the with story and spotlight boxes.

Thanks for your input as well, especially concerning if it works on other browsers and the blank space. He hasn't been kicked out yet, but I will be taking into account what's been said here:

1. Yea, the link doesn't fit well in the box, but I had check it with one of her pets to make sure when the trophy was got that it fit in there.
2. It does, though I as mentioned before, I tried to adapt it a bit so that there wasn't so much blood in it, and with Raiden being in multiple games, I didn't want to leave out any games he was in since the Metal Gear fandom might jump on me about that. However, I do have an idea that might fix up the story by having it told from Raiden's POV rather than in third person like it's done on the wiki.
3. Fixed that! :D At least for the TC. That was my major issued one.

Aesthetics stuff: 4) Really? They look okay to me. Pet Friends I might increase, or have do since she's the one who coded it for me. 5) Fixed that. :D 6) I was saying that myself, though I wish I could've moved the spaces over about five spaces instead. :P Maybe when I shorten down his story some (condensing, I mean), I'll work with that. 7) I actually like where the minion's at, since I'd have to redo that part over. Main things I was worried about was the story and the blank space there.

Well, I solved the problem of the TC issue and the name, so tell me what you two think now of those minor details fixed. That is, points 3 and 5. Story work's going to be done tomorrow, as it's time for bed here.

I have a shop where I do edits for stories if you need a second eye for it. :) Otherwise what I would suggest is font related. The battle stats and his friends info seems a bit small to read. The other thing is that reading in general on the page is kinda difficult, I don't know if maybe it's the font color or the type of font? It's just hard for me to look at. (I don't know if I'm the only one though)

Yea, I'm working on his story right now so even though it takes from the source material of the Wiki, it's told in a way that it's somewhat told from Raiden's POV. Battle stats and friends' font: Yea, it might be a bit small there, but I kinda want to have things focus on the story.

Font color type of font: Hm... I hadn't thought of that before. I wanted it to mimic the codec calls you see in the game, but I can't tell what the font would be there. Here is a picture of the codec call, just in case you needed to see it. Any ideas on the font family/size that'd be needed?

You're welcome to make changes to the coding yourself. If you want to increase the font size, just look for and and in the bracket, look for font and increase the value for a bigger size. Increasing font size for friends won't hurt. I'm not sure about stats though since I was afraid it wouldn't fit, but you can certainly try squeezing it in.

I think I fixed the nomination text. Just FYI, I know you wanted the nomination link to be above the story box, but having it in a different location as the trophy made things complicated so I'm having it all kept in the spotlight box.

And I realized I'd derped when I forgot part of Raiden's story the FIRST time when going back over to edit it to not be so close to the Wiki. XD

Tell me what you guys think now, especially concerning his story, as although it does take from his profile in the Metal Gear Wiki, I updated it so it wouldn't seem like it'd be completely be from there (though a lot of the major events from there are detailed in). It feels more like a story does to me, complete with a beginning, middle, and end now. :)
