I signed up for Subeta yesterday and am really into it. I've played Neopets on and off for 10+ years and really love how Subeta seems to be "edgier", the fact that you have your own avatar, how the community is smaller/more close knit (from what I can tell thus far).

But aside from all these things, I'm not used to the layout and a lot of the terminology, etc. and was wondering if anyone could tell me things that may not be obvious- right now what I get are that there are lots of things to collect, you can earn sP through games/quests, there are potions you can get to make your pets awesome, there's a super rad zombie outbreak or something!? I've spent my first 24 hours on Subeta earning sP to get cool clothes and looking at Subeta wikis, deciding what pets and potions I want.

So yeah, if I'm missing any key points or particularly fun aspects of the game, please let me know!

Also, just a bit about myself- my name's Sam and I'm 21, and am in mortuary school (graduating in June). Which is a huge reason I'm so stoked on this zombie thing, death is the focus of my real life so the fact that there's a plague on a virtual pet site right when I sign up pretty much was a sign that this was meant to be, ha! My username is inspired by an embalming tool we use in the prep room. I live near Seattle but was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago.

Welcome to subeta! Seems you've got a lot figured out already. The zombie outbreak is just this year's celebration of the valentine holiday known as Pandemic or survival. It usually involves zombies though.

I would suggest to start training your pet in Riverside so if there ever is a battling plot, you can be involved in it... If you are interested in battling.

I'll check out Riverside. I've never battled or trained with pets on virtual pet sites, have only ever done that with Pokemon, so I'm definitely interested.

Battling is what I love. If you need links to the training center and/or the beginner guide, or just help in general, let me know. It's good to train now even if you aren't interested just in case in the future you decide you do want to start battling. Certain items only come from battles so it can be a good thing to start (:

My favourite part of sub is that there are different events (pretty in depth) year round and everyone is much more adult/close knit like you said!
