The above URL is during a battle with Pete. What happened with Pete is an example of what generally happens with the Recycle Blaster: (1) The Recycle Blaster is used (2) the RB is said to turn an enemy weapon into a useless weapon (which it does give the enemy) (3) the enemy ends up either using the useless weapon or the original weapon that's supposed to be gone (i.e., transformed into a useless weapon).
The latest example with Pete involved his Oil Burn weapon (if it is a weapon). He still uses it after the Recycle Blaster transforms it. This happened with Canaak's Electric Peck and Manticat's Manticat Sting, Willowisp's Ghost Flare, and probably others I can not remember.
I believe some of these challengers have multiples of each weapon. Not every challenger is like that but a lot of them do have more than one copy of their weapons so you may have blasted one but they're just using their other copy.
That would explain it.
But, then, why should they be allowed to have such copies?
Wouldn't that effectively render stealers and weapons like the Recycle Blaster pointless?
It's just how some challengers are really. Blasting is usually better left to challengers who pose a bigger threat and have weapons that you really want to render useless.
For example: Wyrmgear has SonicBoom a weapon that blocks EVERY icon fully, blasting that will help you take him down without fear of him rendering your attacks useless. So this is where blasting comes in handy.
Sometimes it just doesn't help any against some challengers, you're better off just attacking them to try and get your win.
lets say an opponent has 10 weapons. 2 nukes. you blast 1 nuke, it has another. however, the chances of it using a nuke has dropped for 20% to 10%. might be enough to help you win.
also, now the opponent has a chance of using a useless weapon (the blasted item)
I see. So the weapon does work as described--it is just not as effective as one would imagine upon reading its description, at least against some challengers.
I hope that that is only how some challengers' weapons are instead of all of them. I've no faith in the RNG.
Thanks for your replies--and for any that come henceforth.
