So, the first expansion for gw2 was announced yesterday and it looks pretty interesting. Anyone else here still play gw2? What's your thoughts on the expansion?

I'm disappointed that they didn't announce Tengu as a playable race, but the new Revenant class looks pretty cool. I really like the aesthetic and that they won't be increasing level or gear tier, but adding a skill system for the new zones.

I'm pretty excited for HoT, overall. I'm sure you weren't the only one disappointed with Tengu not being a new playable race (I too would love that) but contrary to what many believed, I thought new class AND new race was too good to be true, you know? Though I think people would have been much more disappointed if they didn't release a new heavy armor class and you're definitely right; Revenant looks sweet!

Feeling a bit meh about masteries but since they're account wide I guess that's pretty nice. What I'm truly excited about is knowing more about specializations! They've been sooo mysterious about them...

I've just started playing again not too long ago, and I just did all of season 2, and oh boy, am I excited for HoT! I can't wait to see how Revenant will play out... I definitely have to buy another character slot for it.

I wouldn't have minded a new race, but i'm not torn up by there not being one, to be honest.

I've been neglecting GW2 ever since starting World of Warcraft back in October of last year, but I'm quickly regaining interest now that an expansion was officially announced! I main a Warrior so I'm definitely going to try out the Revenant-- I just hope it's not too overpowered in PvP because GW2 is the only MMO where I can stand the PvP and actually have fun. :P

My husband and I actually just grabbed a copy of GW2 each. :D We have been wanting to find a game we can play together but we seem to have different tastes and are hoping GW2 can help us meet in the middle. XD

So far I like it quite a bit. I've started with a sylvari elementalist. We'll definitely be getting the expansion if we enjoy the game enough, certainly seems promising thus far. =)
