Since Keith pushed the change for the random game, I haven't gotten a single sP pay amount under 9k. I'm obviously a blue user, and even with the 3 hour wait limit, in just 12 hours I can gain at least 36k. I should note, I'm barely getting any items, too, it's mostly sP pay outs.
Just a hundred blue users, in 12 hours with the 3 hour wait limit, can put at least 3.6mil in to the economy. A hundred gold users in twelve hours can put at least 7.2mil in. When we're still trying to control sP inflation, I think that's way too much of a pay out for a game you just click a single button for.
Of course, I wasn't happy when I was only getting 500sP from the game, or another random balloon. But I feel like this is too extreme too.
Unless my experience is in the minority, and most people aren't getting at least 9k sP out of the game.
I've gotten a few items here and there, but mostly sP. And I also don't recall getting an sP amount under 9k since the changes made, and I've had a GA for that entire time :x

Out of curiosity, going to track my wins.

~2:09pm 9,786 sP
~3:51pm Questionable Scarf
This is not random enough, can it be more random, please?
And that is a LOT of sP. I'm not asking for it to be changed back to how it was, but there's got to be some kind of median.
Yeah it seems like the odds got skewed too much towards 9k+ instead of just increasing the odds of hitting the 10k :x
I don't know if you agree, but a better way to get the 10K achievement was just to raise the roof on how much you can win in one shot.
Like, instead of being between 1K and 10K, be between 1K and 10.5K
Maybe that's the only way the coding works, I don't know. We'd need a staffer in here to give us the specs of the game. But people WERE getting the 10k achievement before the change, it was just incredibly rare.
I honestly haven't noticed much of a difference, though I was unaware of a change and I generally pay little attention to what I receive. I know recently I've had some 9K+ wins, but nothing out of the ordinary, still getting 7k+, 1k+, etc.
My last couple of days of wins were all 97xx sp .
Really? Since the change, I can't remember a single payout under 9k. I wonder why some of us are getting such high ones, and you're still getting lower ones.
I'm pretty sure I've still been getting different denominations, but I will make a point to actually pay attention my next few goes to see if that is the case or if my memory was recalling long ago plays. I just played at got 9.5k or so, I can say that.
i've done random every day since the change almost every 1.5 hour that i'm online and i haven't gone below 9k yet.
I don't do it for the money, just give me the freaking achievement already.

I don't know if this will suffice but Keith posted this to his tumblr since someone mentioned it there:
"It’s the same chance of getting sP vs items as before, the amount of sP is just much greater.
It hasn’t really changed the amount of sP going into the system very much, though."

Technically there could be a chance they would've raised it by making the interval shorter on the lower end xD So instead of it being random between 1k-10k, it'd be 9k-10k, haha.
Or maybe it's a bug similar to the one that seems to affect the Crypts. When you go as soon as your time is up, your chances of getting a result similar to the one you got on the previous turn seems quite high... it's not really random and that's where the problem lies.
I'm a little tempted to say not many people play random so regularly (for the sp increase to have any real impact on inflation) but I have no data, so maybe it happens. n_n Either way, making the interval 1k-12k (or whatever top number makes more sense) and only making it hit increments of 10? 100? or something like that would probably be a nicer solution, so it's not completely unattainable like it was before.
[edit] Now that I see Destiny's quote, making the interval shorter on the lower end is probably what happened, and I see not many people play the game enough for it to have an impact indeed. Meh -shrugs-
Basically what Sopheroo mentioned. Raise the limit, and just round down anything above 10k to 10k. But maybe raise the limit to like 10.1k so its not too common but you still have a 1% chance.
This is the perfect solution

I find it funny how some people want to just be handed that achievement. Screw the trying to earn it! Thats not what achievements are for! Achievements are meant to get be gotten like liquid, that's why my achievement counter has them all!
