I was talking to a friend about shops, I have all my items just in one big shop, and a couple of galleries, but Melea is going to have 2 shops, one for more expensive things, so I mentioned you can have categories in your shop, that led me to wonder whats the best way to have them? what do other people think?
I have one Shop for basic stuff that I autoprice and another one for 1mio sP+ items that I price by hand.
Im tempted to do that as well, I stupidly put an item in my shop before Luminaire, and didnt price it thinking it was safe as it was over a million, well you can guess someone mis-priced theirs and so mine was autopriced and sold losing me about half a million sp. thats why im thinking of having two shops. I find Im a bit lazy as well, and dont price the expensive items as often as I should.but maybe Id do it more if they were separate.
That's exactly why I put up two shops, I prefer to go the safe route with my more expensive items. :)
I have two shops. One for cheap items, which I autoprice. The other is for expensive items, which I price by hand so I can keep an eye on the prices and change when needed.
Categories don't protect against careless autopricing, so it's really best to keep high price items separate.
One shop for hand-pricing whatever I want to sell, which is limited to expensive items. I used to have one shop that served as my vault until I auto-priced it a while back. xD Now I use my vault for storage.
I thought it was better to split them up to prevent autopricing mishaps. Normally I like organising things down to the smallest details, but here with the shops I think that having to categorise everything would take too much time and I assume most people eventually buy through the shop search function anyway so I don't think it's that necessary for me to have categories for browsers. I would like autopricing more if it was possible to regulate it more. Ofcourse I'm being picky here as it's already so great to have the option of autopricing :)
I have just one shop. I can't be bothered to make more than one!
Also - can someone link me where we create a gallery?
Hmmm....okay I may be making another shop then. Hadn't thought about it till I saw this thread. ThanX!
I have 1 shop. all the sP is coming to me anyway

You start by creating a new shop. The option to change it into a gallery will then be in the Edit Shop page.
1 shop with main category and expensive category. After i autopriced, i'll search for everything under 1sp ('cause normal autoprice didnt price over 1m right)
I'll put every display items in my expensive category then i open another user shop search tab, and price it by hand ^^
I don't want more shops 'cause i'm lazy to collect from each shop hahaha
I currently have 2 shops (but one is brand new and I made it for the latest Holiday items, just to keep them separate from everything else--so they don't get lost among my thousands of things-- and now I'm throwing stuff in there that I pick up from the free shop) and I'm quite eccentric, lol. I also have 4 galleries--all pretty disorganized, but maybe someday!! :)
I only sell from one shop and I don't auto price. I'm only selling expensive stuff these days and one of my galleries is a collection of everything I can find toward the unique achievement. I have 13343 unique items so far. I keep taking out extras and dumping them into the vault (well not that often cause it's time consuming) because I already got the achievement for the huge amount of non unique items (40K or 45K??? I can never remember).
Someday I'll have a massive sale (after I reach 25K unique IF I ever get there, lol) but I will still have to pick through it to take out the stuff that I don't want to auto price. I have a LOT of junk but with that many items I also have a good amount of things that I don't want to auto price. The problem with ppl pricing an expensive item well below the current market value has always made me shy away from the auto pricer. I don't even keep an eye on the shop that I DO sell from, but I sell things daily. They're almost all over a million, so I leave it up to fate, and they sell when they sell, lol. I spend a LOT of time buying stuff and collecting, but I'm not a good shopkeeper. :P
I did make another shop for the expensive items right after I read and answered this post and no one has bought anything from it. That seems strange. Usually I sell at least one expensive item or two or more at day. Maybe I didn't set the shop up right or everyone is just sitting in the free shop and not shopping.
