I think it would be nice (and practical too) to be able to attach a message to the gift(s) we are putting under other user's tree, since sometimes we're not able to get online on the 25th to send gifts with a message through the Gift Center o:

As long as it doesn't take 700 years for the staff to manually open the trees and as long as the site doesn't die an horrible death .. I'm fine with it.

There were a couple times I wanted to add a message when I was placing small things under trees. I'd love to see this happen next year.

This was something I was sorely missing this year as well! There were several gifts I wanted to attach sentimental messages to. I ended up using the gift center for the most important ones, but it would have been nice if they could have been opened with the rest of the gifts today.

Part of me wants to do this - But part of me sees how much trouble there is each year with the trees and I think adding more to it will just be another huge issue. The gift center allows messages, and I know its a pain in the ass on xmas to sit there and send them all... with the lag and all that, but I think it still works better than any new feature would.

I think if you want to send a gift with a message attached that you could just use the gift centre.

I'd love to be able to send "e-cards" to other users though, through the gift centre. They could be a background image (various designs for birthdays, Luminaire, etc.) with a space for a short message (maybe 200 characters). Could be cute.

I don't understand why this can't be done through the gift center, like everyone else is saying. If you're willing to spend the time to write everyone a personalized messages it shouldn't take too much more effort to do it through the gift center. So I'd so no on the grounds of a redundant feature that would just take away resources, no matter how small and easy it would be to implement. [edit] Although, I would LOVE to finally be able to purchase the ability to have a gift arrive at a pre-selected later date with sP. I know it's currently a CSC exclusive feature for CS exclusive item, I think. And I thought I remembered Keith saying somewhere that he wanted to keep it that way, but with the move from CSC to sP with the Wardrobe layer slots, I'm hoping other minor previous CSC-exlusive features can be transferred to have a sP parallel.

Don't see the need for this. You can just send a gift box with a message if you want to send a gift with a message.

I sent all my gifts out two weeks in advance on here. I really wouldn't want to be sitting on here on Christmas sending all my gifts through the gift center just so I can add a message to everyone. I personally like this idea. All the gifts are still under the tree. They still get the on Christmas. You can be all cutesy and sentimental. I like that.

I don't see why they have to be opened on Christmas though? Who cares? We don't need a redundant site feature like this.

Besides, if you're going to be on here for any reason on Christmas Day anyway, it shouldn't take that long to send gifts. Write out your messages ahead of time and have your inventory and sP ready to go

Yes please! I think this is a great idea as long as it wouldn't somehow break the site. The gift center is awesome for just a general gift, but I also like having presents for people to open on Christmas, just like real life... and like many, I send them in advance of Christmas. Surprises on Christmas are good. Surprises with personal messages are even better.

I really would love this feature, I kept thinking about what I wish I could say when I was adding gifts to the trees, but dear lord it's hard enough opening presents on this site every year. As much as I'd love the idea, I don't think it's practical right now, the site goes down for hours every year without more things for it to load :(
