I created a new account a couple of years ago, posted in it like twice, then forgot about it xD LJ used to be my favorite thing when I was in middle school, all of my internet buddies had one. I was thinking about using it again, so I don't clog up my tumblr with so many personal posts. Does anyone else still use LJ? Or is tumblr just the new thing now?

I never was quite into LJ. I could never be active on it or anything. I do remember having a poetry blog on there though. That site is pretty much old news. The only people who is it now are anorexics because you can create blogs like that there without them being banned.

From what little I understand (I admit I never used the site), I think most people just go to the Archive of Our Own kind of/sort of sister site now for stories instead of using LiveJournal itself.

I've used lj for years and there are still active people and communities, but it's a shadow of what it once was, in my opinion. I think other sites came up that let people do things more specifically and lj couldn't offer the same features. A lot of fandom and personal stuff went to tumblr because of features like reblogging and site-wide tags, b/s/t and some meetup stuff went to Facebook for accountability, fanfiction went to ArchiveOfOurOwn because it's just a phenomenally capable database. These are my personal observations, anyway.

I still have mine and mostly use it for personal posts, but even that hasn't been often recently. It's still a way to keep a journal, but I don't really know how you find friends or people to socialize with to be honest. Not like back when everyone was on it.

I had an account there. but i deleted it. I saved the most important stuff though. Now i blog on wordpress but that just personal blog and stuff. im not the best at making friends, so i dont even care about that aspect. Here things are different. However, if you post at the right times, and with the right tags, people will visit and like your posts otherwise, not so much, haha.

Basically, i think LJ is going down, though they did change some stuff and seem to have improved some features, so you can never know. [edit] sorry, i forgot to look at the last date ;-; i didnt mean to spam
