The news post for the updated spotlight schedule said there would be winners on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and, well, it's 5 pm Friday and there's no winner yet. I'm not gonna lie, I was/am really unhappy with the change, and I know a lot of other users were too, so can we at least stay on schedule with it? As in, a new winner on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at midnight like it's supposed to be? It would take a lot of worry off those of us who enter our pets.
lmao not at all surprising it's broken already with the change. Maybe someone forgot to flip a switch.
The real problem is that you expected something to work correctly.
It's like the American government - something works for ages and then, because it works (admittedly, mostly), they have to change it.

It's just that normally when the spotlight fails to reset, a staff member usually awards it manually, and it's been seventeen hours and no one has done anything about it; probably haven't even noticed. They sure are excited about this new schedule!
I was not even aware of this change. Of course once I finally get my butt around to working on my pets (other than my one that won the spotlight agesssss ago), it drops from 7 winners a week to 3.

Well, it's either we have few spotlights or none at all. I rather take the few. Also, would like to see the winner for today too. I love being exposed to custom layouts. :)
Yeah... not really surprised. Though it would be nice if they managed to get it up before the end of the day at least. But yeah, Subeta's track record with "changes working well on the first try" just isn't very good. :C
I'm thinking PS got detached from the cron, now that it isn't a daily thing anymore? Wonder if it'll take a staffer manually running it every other day for it to work :/

if we don't get a winner before the day ends i would hope they'd do one for saturday to make up for it. the fact that no one has even acknowledged the issue all day is a prime example of how little the staff actually pays attention to those of us who use pets as a creative outlet. smh.
Not surprised. Imo the spotlight changed showed quite well exactly how little the staff care about pets. Subeta's turning more and more into just a forum & HA site.
I'd be amazed if there's a make up winner.

Eek! I just let the programmers know about this. I'm not sure if it's because the queue is low/there are only recent winners in there or if it's a coding issue. I suggested that they run it manually when they get it checked out to make up for Friday.
The change wasn't made for any reason other than that there are way way way fewer pets being nominated lately. The queue was so empty a few times that it caused it not to run at all (no potential winners that hadn't won recently). It's really just keeping up with supply and demand--the supply isn't as high right now with what we're working with. If the queue gets loaded up again and stays that way, we can easily bring it back up as need be.
The director of the creative department is maybe the craziest pet person on site! Pets are very very cared about. <3
Okay, they got this fixed up! It's coded in a different way now, and our queue page is even fancier so we have more of a heads up if pets have won recently and aren't actually eligible just yet. And a new winner has been posted to make up for Friday :)
