Questions about CW making and submitting

I want to make a few CWs before a trial for Corel is up. I began making a dress that my OC wears and a hair style. First off once I submit it will the item be drawn on the HA base? or would I have to erase the base first and submit the item as a "floating image". Does the item have to be a GIF file?
once I get done a bit more Im going to post pictures of the WIPs

The overlay you submit should not include the HA base.
