I'm so glad I have hundreds of millions in battle weapons I cant even use now because my pet is only a tier 4.

Just what I wanted to do.

Grind out another game like this.

Hi, been gone for over two years?

It was changed because the old system didn't work. At all. For anyone.

Been gone for at least 2 years x_x

I forgot how enjoyable this game was. Kinda bummed me out to find all these weapons I have I can't use until I spend months training my pet some-more.

Could be worse I guess, I am just now remembering how to train my pet etc.. so Oh well.

Yeah it changed in like July of 2012, so you've been gone for quite a while... It's more fair this way, the point is to put time into your pet, not buy the biggest weapons and auto-win, that breaks the game.

It doesn't take too long to get a reasonably tiered pet. Put all your money into your pet for now, you can autotrain for a while and that gets your pets stats while you're sleeping. Battle Quests help, too.

instead of putting billions into weapons, put them into your pet, then into weapons again

Before, even low difficulty challengers had to be made far more difficult to account for people with massive sets couldn't just plow through them, which meant that people who didn't have a top of the line set, aka, 90% of the community, couldn't beat a challenger that should have been a fair fight otherwise. At the time of the update, I was furious, as I had invested far more in my set than i had my set. But it makes waaaay more sense to invest in the pet first and to have a system that encourages that. Think of most other games, your gear is generally limited by your stats or level or summat. It does take away a bit of the originality subeta had with the old system, but most games are like that because that just makes more sense and works better :).

tiers bring back some semblance of strategy to the game. if i want to use one of my weaker pets, i can't just slap my godlies into the set and plow forward like it's business as usual. now you've got to go back and think, what kind of weapons can you use for that particular fight that fit within the guidelines of 1. what the pet can use and 2. what you're willing to pay for/already own.

while it might be discouraging to own weapons that you suddenly* can't use, it's not like those weapons are necessarily going anywhere. i and i'm sure many other battlers had that same problem back in 2012, but it made for a nice training goal. and thankfully, subeta makes training very easy.

*two years after the fact is still sudden in i guess... geologic time?

I'm just glad everyone didn't OOBER roast me for this 'angry' board I made.

Thanks for all the constructive criticism?

But i'm curious.. How would I invest money into training my pet? It only seems to take 100-ish k to autotrain him right now. Are there faster ways?

@ Lunarfist People buy boosters to quicken the pace of growing. and all its fellows that you get from and all the matching ones (turn in an amulet and it's roughly a one in 16 chance you get a tome, if memory serves), Shinwa boosters you can potentially get from her every day, boosters from the Apothecary, from the Millionaire Center and Cash Shop, etc etc. There's a booster list board on here, it's on the front page.

Interesting... I got a tome out of my third amulet. I wonder what this averages out to per stat.

Say I spent 100m doin this x_x what tier could I get to

@ Lunarfist Well, 100 mil will get you about 250 amulets if you get them all around 400k. Also I was wrong, it's not 1 in 16, it's 16%, so one in 6~. That's roughly 41 tomes. If a tome gives an average of 2 per stat, which is 12 stats per tome, you'll get like 492 stats over all 6 categories... I think. I'm probably wrong, I'm horrible at math.

At the point you are at, autotraining might be one of the most cost efficient ways of training your pet quickly. If you can compare how many courses you normally get in a day to how many courses you get from autotraining, then that may be an option to look into.

You shouldn't!

When I started out battling, the advice to beat any challenger was: Oh it's easy, just take out your god weapons and you'll beat the challenger! Ofcourse as a newbie battler, you don't have these god weapons, and you definitely don't want to invest hundreds of millions of sp just to get a taste of battling. Now it's different, you can't use these godlies anymore, but you also don't need them. There are good weapons in every tier, and especially in the lower tiers the weapons are quite cheap. There are more alternatives now.

When I was starting out before the tier system was implemented, I couldn't beat opponents I should have been able to because I didn't have the strong weapons others had. The Battle Admins had to buff the opponents like crazy to make the fights fair. Now, the opponents are the right size for the pets that they were made to fight. Battling is so much more fun!

I will say after playing a bit with current tier system... I like it.

I still think it sucks that I can't use all these weapons I invested in PRIOR to the update, but overall the system is nice.

I will say it takes alot of time and CSC, which = REAL MONEY, to auto train constantly. Yes it's easy.. but that's alot of real money I have to spend to get to the point I was before this update.

I think it was less about having 'easy' challengers and more about money.

But that's here nor there, eh?

just curious, what is this or all these very expensive weapons you invested into?

alot of staples arent that high tiered (blasters, full blockers, freeze/stealers are in all ranges)
