Hi Panty. Welcome to Subeta! I totally grew up in Maine, so it's cool to see someone else who knows where the heck that small state is. :P When people ask I usually reply, "It's basically Canada." As to your first question, "Fireside" is just one of the holiday events here on the site. Certain fun parts of the site open up only at holiday times of the year, and often there are story lines that show up in the news section of the site that bring out new games and such. Fireside is the Subeta version of Thanksgiving... we just don't call it that because the site is not just for Americans. "Luminaire" is basically Christmas.
