Someone very kindly mailed me with a screenshot to let me know my HA had been featured as the HA Spotlight for a time.
I had no idea - I didn't even realize this was a thing as I'm always logged in.
It would be great if this was visible somewhere on the site when you're logged in. I don't care if there are no achievements etc for it (although how cool would it be to have a title or something for being featured) - but it would be great if they appeared on the main news page like Pet Spotlights or something since we work so hard on them and then don't even know that someone sees and appreciates haha.

I was always under the impression that the "Human Avatar Spotlight" was just an area to showcase a randomly generated HA for new users to always see to help entice them to join. Not a hand-picked HA.
But I mean, going off of an achievement suggestion based on HA likability, I think something could be done for 100 HA likes, or something based around the liking system that didn't involve any sort of tiers or high numbers. [edit] Realized that I completely forgot to agree with the initial suggestion which was to have it show when logged in and yes, I wouldn't mind that. If it is random it'd be fun to just refresh and see the HAs of people who aren't frequent posters. If it's not random then it deserves a more prominent place on site for sure.

Yeah - I agree with that. I honestly don't really care about achievements or anything, but at least make it visible somewhere while logged in too.
I think maybe they could have it on the news page or something, on the sidebar.
I'm pretty sure it's just an automated image because a new avatar comes up whenever that page is refreshed and it includes frozen users, inactive users, naked avatars, avatars that are just skins, etc. 😅
The spotlight isn't actually a spotlight. It's just an algorithm that chooses avatars based on a couple of factors (non-default HA features, 2+ items on the face layer, etc) that ends up usually choosing cool / interesting / attractive avatars.
There isn't a staff process of actually choosing good avatars like we do with the pet spotlight, which is why it isn't featured anywhere but the front page :)
If the heart on avatar system got some love, it could possibly replace the spotlight, but then it becomes a lot more of a popularity contest.
