I would say you need more stats. Also be sure to remember to take in full blockers, you can't heal against him.

A good shorthand for figuring out if your pet is a good match for an opponent is to look at the opponent's speed and compare it to your tier/stats. So for example, Cursed Effigy, the Tormented has 1100 speed, which puts him in the low tier 8 range (1100-1349 avg per stat). Since your pet is 6, you have a bit of a ways to go before you'll be able to beat him.
