Since there are a lot of trunks that have been retired recently I thought it would be nice to get a couple of new trunks or to see some of the elder ones returned. <3 What do you think about this?
I remember mentioning that the site was trying to move away from trunks sincr they were a lot to draw for 5 dollars/500 CSC.
The CSC released some mini fashion trunks during tthe last Fashion event.
A lot of old stuff tends to get rereleased during the Black Friday sale.
I think it being too much to draw for 500csc is BS. It's like cws are setting the cash shop pricing standard and that sucks when you don't have the money to spend. If people actually get something decent for their money they're more likely to buy it. Like, if they cost say 1000, I wouldn't buy them - I'd just pick up the pieces I really want.
But then, a lot of the CS prices are high. There's another pet site I play where new pet slots only cost $5 and they're unlimited so... shrugs
I'd at least like to see the maiden's favor revamped. And the one with the Arabic outfit that I totally can't remember the name of. hides
Most trucks have between 8 and 12 items, per gender, and as wearables they require staff artists to get drawn twice (once as an item, once as the wearable). That is 16 to 24 items that a staff member has to draw, and that Subeta has to pay them for... for only $5 back from a player.
For players they are great because we get so much for a small price tag, but if you look at it logically, in terms of profit margins, trunks are a horrible item for Subeta to create as a business.
I really wish they didn't move away from CS Trunks. It's one of the main things that kept me spending money.
There is no Shepard without Vakarian
Me too, I do hope that trunks will stay. At least, they could just change availables once in a while and bring back old ones from time to time. It doesn't demand additional artists' work, but brings money as well.
Maybe trunks look too cheap in comparison with CWs. But I'm sure there are a lot of people like me, who can't afford spending 500 CSCs just for one thing, but will definitely buy a bunch of things for the same price. The more expensive all the "cool" things (like CWs) are, the stronger users' will to buy something really good for the lower price....

Well if there will never be new trunks I would definitely like to see older ones coming back every now and then...
But I have to wonder about those little mini-trunks that keep coming out in the token shop. Those have several items inside, male and female overlays, the item arts, the trunk art.... And not even for real money but for an easily obtainable onsite currency? Okay then
I've been hoping the Maidens Favor would be turned into a costume trunk for years. I wouldn't mind if it was released as a mini-trunk with just the dress, wig, dragon and silver circlet. I'm sure the male version could be reduced to a few basic items as well.
I can understand the reasons for not releasing costume trunks now but it's still very disappointing.
Costume trunks are also way less popular than they used to be because Subeta fashion moved on from fandom and disguises, which were really popular (Remember when things like Skull Mask were king?) to people prefering their fashion to be closer to real life's and be more styling than quirky.
While there is still a minority who prefers avatars that are more in costume, it does explain the shift of attention from costume trunks to the more expensive Delish lines. We got a Halloween Delish line who is a little more disguise-like compared to other lines, but still really fashionable and usable.
Subeta prefers to go broader, than to go with a niche market. Now, most trunk like items are released via the token shop and it's fine.
There'll always be people who like to imitate real-life apperance and those who prefer using the avatar-making as the opportunity to create a fantastic look. I would say that the fist group is not major, it's more like 50/50 (probably the second group is not so active on forums).
It's interesting to see how many CWs are more quirky than real life fashion. There are also a lot of period items, too. There's obviously a market for this kind of wearable.
It's interesting to see that a lot of these CWs have struggles to find 10 people to fill them.
Trunks were my favorite things, end of. I am willing to spend CSC on trunks, but no other cash shop item, ever. (Except for that one time with the sale when I could get a hedgehog.)
But yeah I mean...it's a great deal and the art tends to be awesome and I love them a lot. Even if it's just a limited release since it's such a great deal.
There's a lot that did fit the requirement in the CW shops and on the site even though the latter are no longer available. Meanwhile, I spend a lot of time checking out the CW section of the pawn shop and it's interesting to see how many of the more realistic fashion items are pawned. I think this shows that users vary in their tastes.
I think JESSYTA gave us the real explanation for the lack of costume trunks these days. After all, if the majority of users wanted more realistic fashions there could have been costume trunks with more realistic fashions.
Costume Trunks were originally designed for things that are well, costumes. For fashonable things, we had Subeautique and later, Delish. This is exactly why we had a distinction between both.
I still think JESSYTA has the right answer. Buying a full Delish set costs a lot more than a costume trunk. Even buying a few items from a set can cost a lot more as well. As for realism, I can't say I've ever seen people wearing anything like the Delish Tea items in real life.
