Umbra help?

So I have a newly Tier 8 pet --- about 1100 in all stats.
My default weapon set: Gorgun Recycle Blaster Forj Tempered Machete Blackheart Blade (brand new -- good choice or bad choice?) Reborn Icewand of Doom Acorn Bomb Phoenix Quill Reviver of the Lion
I carry 4 Cobalt Eternals and a Soothing Current.
I also have a Twisted Rift Blade and a Frozen Ocean Curl, if those are useful.
I've been throwing the Machete and the Rift Blade at Umbra and managed to get a tie once, but not even a single win. Any advice or is it a hopeless case?

are you using dark potions by any chance? I don't think freezing helps against him, so gorgun is pretty useless. your cobalt eternal scrolls will help a lot. your best bet to beat him is just looking at your weapons and seeing what icon you do most of. if you can avoid dark/light/phys/earth (I think those are the ones he can block more than 10 of?) you'll be good. just match the dark potion to whatever icon you do the most of. so if you do like 25 earth icons, use dark earth potions. if you need me to, I can take a look at your set in depth to see what icon you're best with. I think MrCool posted a guide for a t8 pet to get 5 wins on Umbrus on the battle chat thread last night. I can try to find that for you if you want, but that requires certain weapons.
OHHHHH.... I was looking at potions and for some reason it didn't dawn on me that he wasn't blocking 10 from each weapon, just 10 total, so the icons from the potions would still go through. It's taking me a while through the lag, so far only tied once (but he got some lucky hits on me) I will work on it with Dark Fire and Dark Magma potions, see how it goes, and report back. Thanks!

if you want to try for more eventually, maybe I can point you in the right direction for some new weapons =) but good job on the two wins =)
I'd definitely be interested in general-purpose weapons advice if that's what you mean, but I am pretty broke by Subeta battle standards. :-)
general purpose t8 weapons I am less helpful with x) I only really know high end weapons. my first suggestion for you is you will use that forever, it's a full block, once per battle. is an upgrade on the shard, but I use both, as do most people. you can probably upgrade your freezer a bit but that's a minor thing. expensive stuff though. what's your price range?
I don't know that I have a price range exactly, but I have like 110 million to my name total and I'm afraid I don't replenish it that fast -- I have a lot less time to spend on the site these days. :-) Something that's 40 million would be a BIG purchase for me, it would take months (at least) to build that back up again.
well keep it in mind as a goal =) it comes in handy and will never use its usefulness like many other weapons at your tier will.

I honestly don't know. I don't even think it's in the cs right now unless it came back since last time I checked.

No problem! another goal you could have is which transforms into
which is a very very good t8 weapon, expensive though. it's a prize from the first series of bobbleheads. it will continue to get stronger until like t10 maybe? idk, I still use mine. it's a great weapon. but that would be a much longer term goal for you unless you have the bobbleheads or something already xD
