Soldier shot outside of Parliament, one gunman ‘killed,’ but ‘multiple shooters’ suspected.

Some sources are saying two soldiers were shot at the war memorial and that one has died. One of the shooters got inside Parliament and was killed by police. Police think there may be more shooters in the area. Parliament Hill is on lockdown as are the US Embassy, Ottawa Public Library's main branch, CBC News headquarters in Ottawa, the Rideau Centre, University of Ottawa, etc.

Police are warning everyone in the area to stay away from windows and rooftops while the situation is still ongoing.

Condolences to the families of the soldiers wounded and killed. This is a terrible situation and something we don't see very often in Canada. I hope that no one else gets hurt and that at least one attacker gets captured alive so police can find out what their motivation was.

I'm very saddened and angered by this attack and the attack in Quebec two days ago.

My fiance and I live only a few blocks away from the War Memorial; he even walks passed it every day on his way to and from work. He was considering switching shifts with a coworker last night, but eventually decided not to; had he switched, he would have been walking passed right as this was happening.

It has been a terrifying and heartbreaking day for our city.
