I am back from 2-3 years off, so a little lost to say the least. I bought the Research File Cabinet and beat him 10 times, but there is no knew opponent, the MUTANT SCIENTIST. I am missing something or do I have to buy something else now to get this one?

If it helps, Odontos/Fruit Salad/Mornrise Serpent also use items appearing in your inventory after 25 wins against a weaker opponent. I think this method of unlocking challengers was based off of Forj Matriarch and her three stages. Several comparisons can be made between Meatslab and Forj actually.

After this much time away, things have changed some and google has been my friend in trying to find things and answers. Roxy let me in on that one. At least I still have some decent pets and weapons, so I guess the rest will come with time. :)

Since late 2012, there have been a few more god and demigod weapons added and even some of the challengers have gotten harder than ever (Mutant Scientist being one of them).

A few high end weapons that may be of interest to you include:

Possessed Bow (BHH tier 10 weapon that is a fire blocking demigod)

Ornamented Hook Swords (450M MC tier 10 weapon that is an earth blocking demigod)

Unstable Sample Syringe (tier 10 "demigod" that blocks 40 magma and 40 ice; special loot of Mutant Scientist)

Tempestuous Blade Gauntlet (tier 10 "demigod" that blocks 35 water and 35 light; was given to top 50 damage dealers in Tempest boss battle)

Intricate Energized Helmet (tier 9 freezer that has a strong light block and a two turn anti-freeze/anti-stealing blessing)

Volatile Energized Mecha (a weapon along the lines of those "shrine" weapons suited for tier 11+ pets and also gives impossible tokens a use for once)

Paintbrush Blades (tier 11 weapon that is like MCAB on steroids; special loot of low tier 11 challenger Sophie)

Natasha (750M MC weapon that is a fire blocking god weapon)

Amulet of Drakkonis (OPB tier 4 weapon from the November 2012 monthly collection that heals 50% of your health)

Cronus Blade (the long-awaited tier 12 magma blocking god weapon that is a Genetech combo between the main loot items of all three of Meatslab's forms).

You should probably at least add in intricate energized helmet, volatile energized mecha, and cronus blade to your armory. Natasha is not too much different than K-Wand and O-Staff is better than ornamented hook swords. Amulet of Drakkonis is mostly a weapon if you feel a 50% healer would do you better than STS/RV/AoN's full blocks.

You created a Volatile Energized Mecha!

You seemed to have figured out how to make them, but I do feel the mecha should be very much worthwhile in long fights. That 125 HP heal blessing can possibly add up to over 6K worth of healing and over 300 extra icons from the curse worth of damage in the long run.

Just tried it in battle, oops I didn't know it would break after 1st use.

I barely changed my HA over the years. I think the only things that really changed since 2012 would be the backgrounds, the claymore, and the puppy.

Hopefully you can get back on track soon. These days, the ultimate challenger is Baenwurath. This challenger is a castle occupied by an extremely powerful army. It has 75K health, its icon preferences change throughout the fight, and is unlocked by the August 2013 cash shop item "Medieval Research Notes".
