Hey everyone! This is kinda like my first ever serious post outside of a few select forums but I just felt like making a post dedicated to the progress of my Halloween costume (a faun named Lumii)

First, let me lay out a pattern for her body. This will act as my pattern / reference for sewing her up!

Here is a picture of the pattern I'm using to give her digitigrade legs (okay, technically a faun would be considered a horse, which would be considered ungulate, but for the sake of my explanation let's keep it simple). I'm going to take these patterns, cut out pieces and sew little pillows that I'll stuff and attach to pants for wearing under the fur.

Next in my process came the ear pattern. I free handed this, the base is actually the same width as the majority of the rest of the ear. I picture it rolled, the same way it'll appear in the finished product.

Using the pattern, I cut out six pieces of buckram (stiff interfacing fabric). I sandwiched them together in bundles of three to make both ears. A little hot glue and a bit of distinguishing marks (so I don't accidentally end up with two left ears) later, and I'm able to roll them the same way I did the pattern. Next on my agenda was to come up with a way to add a bit of 'fluff' to the inner ear. Original plan was to use fur and shave it down strategically, but decided on a color I didn't have. I do however have the color in fleece, and fleece isn't very fluffy. My solution?

The bases are pinned together for the moment, I'm still waiting on my fur to arrive because I need to skin them, obviously.

This is the extent of my progress as of 10/11/14. I'll keep ya'll updated with WIPs and explanations for my madness!

To Do List for 10/12/14 -Find large head band for antlers -Obtain barrettes for ears -Sew together digi padding
