So, I signed up for a 3 month subscription to get a loot crate for my husband. Anybody else out there signed up for this product? If so, what did you get? I'm excited, there's 3 days left before the boxes are sent out. I can't wait to see what they send him.
Meanwhile, for myself, I've been signed up to Graze for almost a month now and am LOVING it! I get the box sent to my workplace and so I have something to nibble on during the week when I feel the need to snack. It's keeping me from wanting to go to the gas station for a candybar, so much, much better overall. I've been very satisfied so far.
So, anybody else doing Graze or Loot Crate?
My fiance and I did Loot Crate for a few months. We stopped subscribing because so much of the stuff you get is knick-knacks that we don't really have room for; we prefer stuff that we can use instead of just decorations. We got a shirt in three boxes, I believe. They can be hit or miss, mostly because there's so much that falls into the "geeky" category. We got some stuff that we were like, "I'm not even sure what this fandom this is from." I got my fiance a 3 month subscription to amoda tea, which we both really enjoyed. They give you 3 different kinds of tea each month, which makes quite a few cups (10 cups for each kind if I remember correctly). I got a makeup subscription box from Starlooks for two months and thought they were pretty well curated; I got items that are usable often as well as some more special events-y items. Now we're getting some boxes from Quarterly. We got one from Bill Nye, a few from Quarterly's Food and Home, one from Riot Read, and we're still getting Book Riot. I'm interested in trying snack boxes sometime; I eat a lot of snacks (not big on breakfast or lunch foods, but I will eat some pretzels and an apple and celery instead of an actual meal). We're also interested in trying the meal boxes once we're leaving together and they deliver to our state. That's doubly nice cause not only do you get groceries for half a week's meals, you also get recipes to add to your collection. Basically, I super love subscription boxes :P
Some of those sound awesome, And yeah, I'm gonna see what sort of stuff they send before deciding if we renew, but I have no problems with cool decoration stuff. We've got a library and there are still some spots we could display neatness in. The tea sounds lovely although we've still got quite a lot of tea from our Teavana addiction.
What sort of things do you get from the Bill Nye boxes?
Oh, and if you want to try the Graze box, here's a coupon code that gets you your first and fifth box for free: KC7CRRZNB
We've only gotten one of the Bill Nye boxes so far. It was seasons-based, so it had an item each for winter, summer, spring, and fall. There was a DIY herb garden mason jar kit, sun sensitive paper, fake snow, and a book about autumn. We're both so busy that we haven't actually gotten to use any of it yet, but I like how there's a mix of usability in there; like the herb garden is something you get to make and use in your cooking, whereas fake snow is just a fun thing and a book is obviously full of useful information! His next package comes in November and I think the theme is climate change. I'm looking forward to seeing what's in it!
Thanks for the coupon code! It looks like Graze has a GREAT selection!
Yeah we've really been enjoying it. In fact the only problem I have with it is having to share with the husband! I've found myself craving the tiny dried strawberries in the mixed fruit selections.
I'll have to check out the Nye boxes, it's more of a quarterly thing it sounds like.
I tried lootcrate for a few months, but felt it just wasn't worth the money - I live in Canada, so it costs about $35 a month for me. Most of the boxes I got had lots of stickers/tattoos/candies and coupons that were mostly only worth using if you lived in the US in it - stuff that was cheap and I had no use for. The only month I really enjoyed was last month (I had cancelled my subscription and rejoined just for last month) - it had a Groot Funko figure, a TMNT figure, TMNT sunglasses, a pin, an air freshener, a set of swings (for your sneakers), a magnet and a coupon for digital game content. The Groot figure pretty much made the box for me. =P
I'm actually signed up for Nerdblock and have been for a year now - some boxes are better than others, but you get a shirt every month, and 5-6 items. I believe only once was one of the items stickers - they are usually real items (like blind boxes/packages, keychains, plushies etc.). This coming month's nerdblock is have their first theme, and both the theme and items were chosen by Kevin Smith (Clerks) - the theme is Collide - Marvel vs DC so I am hoping that it will be a good one. crosses fingers
Nerdblock also has an arcade block, a horror block and a junior block for boys/girls. And are implementing - at some point in the near future - a discount for getting more than one box (cannot wait! will so be getting the arcade block along with my classic block).

Swings.... for your sneakers? What is that? Shoelaces?
No, they're little accessories that go on your sneaker laces (the set I got were little symbols from The Flash). ^_^

Oh okay! Now that you describe them I know what you mean :)
Graze is the best! It's my diet's lifesaver most of the time.
Check out my book here!! Premonition Girl- http://www2.xlibris.com/bookstore/bookdisplay.aspx?bookid=75031
I've been getting Graze boxes for a little bit! They're so good! I'm not the biggest fan of dried fruit but there's enough selection and the option to tell them to never send you certain things again so I've been extremely happy with it so far! I do have a bad habit of eating everything in the box like the first day or two though haha. They're just so good! I wish they had an option of some sort to buy a larger quantity of any particular snack though, I would kill for the flapjacks!
Edit: Ohhh man I just looked at the website and big boxes are coming out soonish! So perfect.
I have been getting Graze boxes for a few years now. I used to get one a fortnight but now I get one a month. I was going to cancel but they offered me a free box or half price (can't remember) and then suggested I reduce the frequency. I guess after a few years I just got a bit bored, but there are still things I love and new stuff all the time. I really need to bin a lot of the dried fruit stuff as I think that's what puts me off. In theory I just want healthy snacks but in reality I can't be bothered to eat them!

My bff got me a 3-month subscription to Love with Food. I really want to try the loot crate one, but some of the past boxes would've been a complete miss for me and my husband.
So now we're looking forward to the next Loot Crate. This one, unsurprisingly, has a horror theme for October. There's evidently going to be a t-shirt this time around, along with other stuff, so that's cool. I'm not a big fan of zombies or Walking Dead shows, but maybe they'll include some classic horror items? Bring on the werewolves too!
I tries the free first month of Graze. It was good, but a bit expensive for me. I currently have a Lootcrate subscription. I joined in July. I was super excited for the Heroes crate. I loved the exclusive Funko Pop Groot. I wasn't very impressed with last months Galactic crate, but I can't wait for this months Fear crate. We're definitely getting a T-shirt, an exclusive Walking Dead item, and an exclusive Dead Rising 3 item.
What did you think of the Loot Crates you got so far? Have you gotten the one for October yet?
I love the graze box cause I would easily spend 5-8 bucks a week on snacks before, and now I can eat a bit more healthy. I have dialed it back to every 2 weeks though.
We really got a kick out of the Galactic box. The husband is a huge Firefly and Aliens fan, so he was just giddy over the Mal figure and the firefly money. He didn't get the Alien figure he wanted, but a friend was willing to trade so he got the xenomorph eventually. The tribble made him giggle and he's gonna make a chain mail pouch for it...yeah, he's weird. I expect the October one to show up around middle of next week.
