Biggest Tip : Start questing! Wizard Quests are great - usually cheap, decent profit. You can keep or sell the tokens you will get as prizes (Wizard Tokens can be used to buy items from the Token shop or to go vending with) You will figure it out along the way.

Get yourself a shop started and start questing - sell what you get and you'll be surprised how quickly it adds up
