Is this extremely rare or inactive or am I just so very unlucky?

I the whole time I've been on Subeta (6 years, 8 months, 3 weeks, 2 days), I haven't captured a single one!

I assume you have both the trap and spray in inventory? To capture a lizard its best if you only have the trap in inventory. I've heard that its possible to capture a lizard with both, but its never happened to me. When I have both, I get the item and not the lizard. When I was going for the original achievement, I put the spray away and eventually captured one.

the Lizard Minion Trap, its available from the Millionaire shop. It, along with the Lizard Minion Repellent are used to capture lizard items from random events. They need to be kept in your inventory to be used.

I took out the spray and left the trap...

Random Event You notice a Crystal Dagger on the ground, but right when you bend down to pick it up, lizard minions come out of nowhere and scurry off with it!

As the lizards attempt to escape, your trap fires, but instead of catpturing the lizard minions, it hits them on the head... poor lizard minions! How could you! Shame on you. You shrug, and attempt to retrieve Crystal Dagger But the comatose lizard minion refuses to let go, you decide to stuff both into your pocket. You are so mean.

Sorry for being so clueless, but what would the point of the repellent be?

I finally purchased the trap. Hoping I have good luck! I was trying to save all my SP for gift giving!

The repellent gives you a 25% chance of actually getting the item that was found, rather than having the lizard minion run off with it.

-in-Sand If you have both the trap and repellent you have pretty much 100% chance of getting the item.

If you have only the trap, you have about a 75% chance of getting the item and the comatose lizard.

if you have only the spray, you have about a 25% chance of getting the item.

Because the spray is only 1 million sP, while the trap is 5 million, most people start out by just buying the spray, then later, when they've saved up more sP they get the trap.

I have both items locked my inventory. I had seen the lizards a few times before I got the trap and spray, and since have captured one item but no lizard!

So if I understand the above correctly, if I first want the lizard I am better off saving for the trap first, and then once I get the lizard, I can add the repellent for a better chance at the items?

Sorry for bugging you again, but I have to ask- what kind of items do you get from these random events? Erm, basically I'm wondering if it really is worth it to get the trap/repellent because if it's going to be a good investment (saving up for an angelic potion, among other things) then I'll go get them right now! Lol. But if it's so random that it may not even pay for itself for a long time, then I don't think I'll bother.

That's actually a good question. In the past I would have said, yes, it definitely pays for itself. But it seems the lizard random events are getting rarer and rarer. I'm not sure if its bad luck, if the odds have been deliberately lowered, or its just that there are more different types of REs so every type is harder to get.

The types of items you get are good items, generally worth a million or more - so it doesn't take much to pay off your investment. I don't recall getting any lizard REs recently, so, these days it can take time to pay off your investment.

That said, I often miss getting a notice of the lizard RE because I usually have several tabs running at once.

I feel pretty lucky with the lizard minions now. In the last few months I've captured the lizard 5 times and I've taken 3 items. Right now I only have the trap in my inventory since I am working on the capture achievement but I plan to add the spray once I've captured 10 lizards.
