The CW submission page wants an URL.

I can draw. I have no idea how to draw on a computer or how to move images around. Hence y'know, paying someone else to do it.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on what to do with an sMail image?

When you say an sMail image is it just an image in your Inbox? You should be able to right click and get the URL from it.

oh dear, it appears I know so little about the whole process, I have asked the wrong question.

I now am at the pages where she has saved the images for the overlays and for the item. Is there a method to convince the CW submission page to look there? It's trying to get me to look at my computer, instead.

Oh no, there isn't anyway to do that. You need to save the items to your computer, and then upload them by clicking the 'Choose File' button on the Custom Clothing Page

You should be able to just right click on the image and select save image! This will take you to a place where you're able to rename the file to whatever you want to make it easier to find on your computer.

When you save a file it will retain whatever the file was saved as by the artist...so it should stay as a .png if it was saved that way originally c:

If they've done the images correctly (as they should have since you paid for it) it should save properly.

I have every reason to believe that they image they provided is correct. I just have not so high a belief in myself. maniputating them correctly in order to get them to Subeta :)

I have two options when I choose Save As... One is as All Images, the other is as JPEG. Which of those seems the most likely?

I don't think there is a tutorial on site, but I'm pretty sure you just right click, and choose Save image as...

When you do that it should automatically save correctly, but just check and make sure it's a .png file

Using the overlay for as an example, The overlay is

is what it looks like when I save it. Make sure it says .png :) You should do the same thing with the item image, but that I believe needs to be saved as a .gif file.

If its easier for you, right click on the image and open it in a new tab, isolating the overlay itself before saving it :)

I am using Chrome, just like you. I right clicked the pirate pants item to get teh URL. When I right click on that page and apply Save As.. command to the image from the right-click URL of your Pirate Pants item, it gives me the two choices to save it as: GIF image or All Files. No PNG option exists like in your picture. When I apply the Save As... command to the image the artist gave me, it gives me two choices only: JPEG or All Files/ No PNG option exists. I've got the image in my Pictures, both as teh JPEG and the All Files.

How do I get it to tell me if the All Files version is a PNG or not? Do I need it to tell me this?

That's really strange, it should automatically go to .png .

On the image that the artist sent you, she may have saved it as a JPEG file, which means there is no way to change it to a PNG. When you open the image she sent you in a new tab does the URL end in JPEG? If so you'll need to ask her to resend it. :(

Maybe this is not a mistake by her. Are the requirements of CW such that a JPEG might do?

Yup, unfortunately it has to be a PNG file, if I recall correctly PNG is the only one that displayes transparency. If you try uploading the JPEG, all the space will appear white, and the staff can't approve it like that :(

I have dumped all my other tabs and opened this in a new window in hopes of making things less confusing. Of the three images you have provided in post 9, is the first one is a gif and the other two are png?

When you are submitting a CW the item art (first image) must be a .GIF and the overlay (second image) must be a .PNG

argh! Thank you for being extra clear with me. It appears that my item and my female overlay and my male overlay, they are all of them jpeg.

Time to sMail the artist and tell them to change this to the correct forms. I didn't want to seem like a jerk, just because I didn't know what I was doing.

I sent you .png files. I test submited these to the site before I sent them to you. I even went back to the smail I sent you, right clicked on them and they are PNG files for me. Go to your smail, RIGHT CLICK on the overlays I sent you, and "SAVE AS" directly to your computer and it should save as .png.
