I've just begun getting into Scar Tissue, Anthony Kiedis' autobiography.

I'd seen it in bookstores so many times, and always thought that as a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan, I probably should flip through it.

Finally I caved, and bought it for $35.00 or whatever it cost me. Full price, yeah. But hey, I can't help it if I love the crispness of a nice NEW book.

So far, it seems it was worth every cent. It's written in a really relaxed and believable fashion. It seems to be a really honest and heartfelt account of the Chili Peps' frontman's life from day dot. It's relaxed, and yet it's not at all boring. I LOVE the language used. It feels like I could almost hold a conversation with the book itself.

I can't wait to get further along. Gawd.

Anyone else read this pretty well-known and popular autobio? How'd you find it?

Read any other celebrity bios? How were they? Any you would recommend?

I've always kind of avoided reading biographies and autobiographies, assuming they'd be so boring compared to reading about the lives of fictional characters. I must have been mad, because let's face it, to have a biography written about you, you must have led a pretty full and interesting life, right?!

I feel like I should read Nelson Mandela's biography; Long Walk to Freedom. Seems like it's a staple for most readers. Given that my parents have a copy, I wouldn't even have to fork out any cash, either.

I've had a friend recommend Dame Judi Dench's biography (With a Crack in Her Voice), too, come to think of it.

I had read Always Looking Up by Michael J. Fox for my English class (my choice on the book though). I liked it although I didn't really care for part of it. I personally had a connection cause my history teacher has Parkinsn's as well, and I learned more about it from reading the book. In one part of his book, Politics, I was very bored because I don't like it. I was still and interesting book though.

Haven't read many autobios, but from what I have, I enjoyed Roald Dahl's "Boy" and Paulina Porzikova's "Model Summer". Boy has a bunch of snippets from Dahl's childhood and where he got some of his ideas (and how vividly he remember different types of candy :P) and Model Summer is based off of Porzikova's teen experience.

But I read both books by chance, the first was for a research project on his life, and the second was featured on the Colbert Report.

Oh, and I think I read one of Britney Spears' life cowritten with her mother, but, uh..wouldn't rec it.

I read Dee Dee Ramone's autobiography. I was a huge fan of the Ramones growing up and he was my favorite. It made me kind of realise how messed up they were o.<.
