One of the better horror games to come out in the past year, in my opinion. I was curious how others feel about it, whether you've played it yourself or enjoy watching others (friends, Youtubers) play it? From what I've seen, it's gaining almost as much popularity in a short amount of time as Slender (which doesn't really compare in quality, if you ask me) did. Sp00ky.

I like it :P I've only played it a little because I'm hella scared of sp00ky games, but I love how much mileage it gets you out of very simple game mechanics. It's got good sound and voice acting too, all those little details really add up to a scary game. I don't watch videos with commentary for the most part but I've seen several playthroughs of it on youtube when I gave up trying to finish it myself. It's a neat game and I think it's successful at what it tries to do, a good combo of simple jump scares and insane amounts of tension and anxiety.
I watched a bunch of FNAF vids on YouTube yesterday, and one video the guy filming the video said that the developer was making a sequel. Five Nights at Freddy's 2, which he said might be ready to come out next year maybe around March. The developer also said there may be new animatronic characters, as well as revamped versions of the original five. Golden Freddy, Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy will return in the new one with some new ones.
Can't wait till the 2nd one so I can watch all my fave YouTubers play it
I've watched so many YouTubers play this! I really like it, and bless Markiplier for finishing 20/20/20/20. Excited to see them play the sequel too~
Watched plenty of playthroughs and then my brother bought it for me so we could play at the same time while skyping because he was afraid to play alone. I've only made it to night three. That game gives me nightmares but I keep coming back. XD
“The Ephebians believed that every man should have the vote. Every five years someone was elected to be Tyrant, provided he could prove that he was honest, intelligent, sensible, and trustworthy. Immediately after he was elected, of course, it was obvious to everyone that he was a criminal madman and totally out of touch with the view of the ordinary philosopher in the street looking for a towel."

I haven't gotten to play it much myself. But I told and showed my brother videos about it so he bought it himself. And after the first night Bonnie jumped in front of his face after he lowered the camera and he eneded up calling me up and jokingly telling me he hated me XD
Has anyone here been following the playthroughs and/or news about FNaF2? I've been watching Markiplier's videos of it and it actually looks pretty amazing. (I was surprised and impressed with the direction it took with the gameplay) But thus far I haven't been able to make heads or tails of what's going on story-wise.

and Did someone say FNAF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Haha~ Yeah, it's been quite a while since anything was last said in this thread but I'm still open to chatting about it!
Holy hell I can't believe I went months without saying anything to you. I'm so sorry.....Yeah, I watched all of Mark's playthrough of FNAF2! And by now I'm sure you've got the majority of the storyline figured out, seeing as how there's been so much time for people to dig deeper and theorize.
[tot=nascargot]
I played both the games, though I'm embarassed to say I'm in the fandom because a lot of fans only watch playthroughs then make vulgar fanart of the mascots. I ended up pretty deep in the lore and I like to listen to and dissect theories about the game... and occasionally make and disprove my own.
I think there should be a fnaf cult or something here on Subeta~ I love the game and I think a lot of people here would like some sort of "hats off" in the shops.

Ah yeah that can be....somewhat embarrassing, lol. I applaud you for getting through both games - not everyone is capable of doing that. I know I sure as hell wouldn't be able to. To be honest I don't actually /play/ many games to begin with. I stick with playthroughs simply because I'm not much of a so-called 'gamer'. What are some of your own personal theories?
[tot=nascargot]
That depends on the game we're talking (they're making a third one that I'm already picking over and you may want to Google that)... but in terms of UNIQUE theories that I have yet to see kicking about the web... "Golden Freddy" is the "fifth child mentioned in the news clippings," the only reason he is limp and lifeless is because the endoskeleton isn't in the body. You see this in both games. An endoskeleton without a suit has been seen in the parts and services room in 1 and wandering around between the prize room and the air vent in 2. That being said I have a theory for why the suit and the endo aren't together. When the fifth child was murdered by the person in fnaf2 (the phone guy from fnaf2 mentions someone stealing a yellow suit) the killer must have removed the endoskeleton from golden Freddy and shoved the body inside to dispose of it later... unfortunately for the murder, he was caught before he could properly dispose of the body, thus the suit is still missing. Since the suit would be missing it would explain Golden's "hallucination-like" properties. Fact of the matter the suit isn't actually there in the building. It's also worth mentioning there is NO reference from the phone guy to any "yellow suits" in fnaf1 but at least 2 in fnaf2 emphasizing that the suit is probably a hallucination but at one point WAS a real thing. Sorry if that was wordy and hard to read... :(

Mm! I have heard those theories! And don't worry, it wasn't too hard to read. I'm sure you have even more speculations now that the 3rd game is out. To be honest I'm a little confused - but I haven't seen nights 4 or 5 yet, and it generally just takes me a while to absorb new information anyways. All I can say so far is that it's taken a completely different direction than what I was expecting. How do you feel about it?

Saw this thread, and wanted to pop in.
Watched playthroughs of the whole game and holy... that plot. So many new theories and ideas :D
Also Springtrap = <3
(Also think there should be a FNAF cult. It'd be awesome)
I wonder if there will be another game, the one to see what started all this, why the purple guy is murdering kids, and why is he purple?
Saw both Markiplier and Pewds, though Markiplier was better. I did see another person play the game and get the good ending. I can't wait for MatPat to present to us his theory though.

I tried playing this game both on PC and on Mobile and my sanity can only handle until the 2nd night. This game is so freaking scary, I can't wait to try the FNAF 3 X3
Scott himself said that he intended the games to be a trilogy, and I think that everything was wrapped up nicely in 3. But considering what you see at the background of a photo in the newspaper clipping of Nightmare mode when you play with the contrast settings (plus apparently Scott said that the journey isn't over yet), anything can be possible.
FNAF is a pretty interesting game, considering it's just the same jumpscares over and over again. I've played 1, but I'm not easily to scare so it was kind of boring for me to play. I don't really have any interest in buying 2 or 3 after that. x)
However, I do enjoy watching other people play it. It's pretty funny to see their reactions. The story behind it all is pretty interesting too, all the fan theories are a good thing to listen too. I've got a few views of my own after reading some of them.
I think my favourite characters from the series would have to be the purple guy, foxy and spring trap.
And you know, for being called Five Night's at Freddy's you'd think the main scare would end up being from Freddy, but as far as I know the only game that actually made him a "special" threat was in one when he could just get into your room without you seeing him. I guess golden freddy kinda counts but idk. I know it probably wouldn't make much sense in the story line if freddy was the main scare all the time, but it's just an odd thought. xD
