...Hopefully I'm allowed to make this topic, even though I just made one in this forum, albeit for a completely different topic.

I got my loyalty box last week, but I've been sitting on it since then, waiting to see what I really wanted. I thought about a new pet, but I wasn't 100% sure.

For some time prior to this, I've been cruising the Adopt R US, scoping out pets to see if any really spoke to me.

It wasn't until tonight, though, that I saw one whose name really set my heart racing: Darunia.

One glance at my pets list will make it clear that I'm big into Zelda, and Darunia is one of my three favorite Sages from Ocarina of Time. To see that name and have a chance to get it...I couldn't help myself. I scooped him up, but I found I wasn't entirely happy with my snag.

As much as I love fan pets, I was sort of hoping to make an OC this time. I suppose I could have made one out of him, but it felt wrong. If I was going to have that name, I didn't want to withhold it from someone who might want to make a fan pet for that character. I thought of all the other pets who'd caught my eye, if only partially, and wondered if maybe one of them would fit the bill better.

I went to take a shower (the absolute best place to get inspired), and while in there, I thought more about those other pets. In particular, a wyllop with the name Bric-a-brac. And as I stood there, the creepy poem that is now on his page came to me. I could clearly see something shuffling around in some dilapidated city, scraping up old toys, faded books, torn pieces of clothing...bric-a-brac. All the while, muttering those lines to itself.

And I knew what I really had to do.

Fortunately, no one had gotten ahead of me, and when I got out of the shower, Bric-a-brac was still waiting for a home. I remorsefully dropped Darunia back in the pound and picked him up instead.

Time to start saving up for a GY donadak!
